Successful candidates are usually taken in as cadets and trained at the service’s training college.

After passing out from training, they are commissioned into the officer cadre, starting from a rank like Assistant Superintendent (in NCoS, NSCDC, NIS, NDLEA FFS & NCS) or Assistant Superintendent II
