RE: Viral Video of Senator Anyanwu Reacting to 2020 Supreme Court Judgement on Hope Uzodinma

Our attention has been drawn to a trending video interview of the Gubernatorial Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Imo State, Senator Samuel Anyanwu speaking on the Supreme Court Judgement that ushered in the Hope Uzodinma Administration.

We would like to clarify that this interview was conducted sometime in 2020 and at the time, Senator Anyanwu alongside many others thought that Uzodinma had the capacity to bring Good Governance to the State.

However, it's no longer news that Uzodinma's administration has been nothing short of Abysmal and disappointing, to say the least. The Incessant killings and destruction of lives and property is clear evidence that Imo cannot afford to experience another four years of this terrible government.

Furthermore, Uzodinma and the APC know they have failed the people of Imo state and cannot win the upcoming elections hence they resort to underhand media tactics and cheap propaganda.

SamDaddy Youth Alliance Inaugurated in Imo

- Vows to tackle Insecurity, advocate for Youths

The Samdaddy Youth Alliance (SYA), a support group of Senator Samuel Anyanwu (also known as Samdaddy), was officially inaugurated on Saturday, May 6th, at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Headquarters in Owerri, Imo State.

Led by Mr. Arthur Ugochukwu, the group pledged to provide unwavering support to Anyanwu, who is also the PDP's Gubernatorial Candidate for the upcoming state governorship election slated for November.

In his speech, Ugochukwu stressed the urgent need to tackle the insecurity that has worsened under the administration of Hope Uzodinma, with young people being the most affected in the State.

"Over the years, Imo youths have been searching for a leader who truly cares about them, who takes their concerns seriously, and who is committed to creating a better future for them. We believe that we have found that leader in the PDP candidate for the governorship election."

At the inauguration event, the PDP Governorship candidate, represented by his running mate, Jones Onyereri, charged members of the group to work tirelessly to ensure PDP's victory in the upcoming election.

Mr. Greg Nwadike, the State Youth Leader of PDP, urged SYA members to align their goals with the party's objective to remove the Uzodinma administration from power and bring about a prosperous Imo State where youths can pursue their businesses without fear.

The SYA pledged to mobilize young people across the state to support the candidate and ensure that the party emerges victorious in the forthcoming election.

The group's leadership expressed optimism in Anyanwu's leadership capabilities and his commitment to the welfare of the people of Imo State.

Imo PDP inaugurates Interim Governorship Campaign Committee

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Imo State, on Friday, inaugurated an Interim Governorship Campaign Committee to work out modalities for its campaign ahead of the November 11th gubernatorial election in the state.

The State chairman of the party, Engr. Charles Ugwu, inaugurated members of the committee at the PDP secretariat in Owerri, the Imo State capital.

Ugwu, who was represented at the event by the state PDP secretary, Hon. Ray Emeana, charged members of the committee to be dedicated to the responsibilities assigned to them in order to return the party to power.

The 19-man committee is headed by Party’s deputy governorship candidate in the state, Hon. Jones Onyereri.

Other members of the committee are Evang Mike Ikoku, Hon Mike Ahamba, Hon. Ngozi Ogbu, Eze Duruiheoma (SAN), Hon. Henry Onwukwe, Dr. Emeka Onyema, Sir Chimdi Ejiogu, Dr. Arthur Bruno Ekwelem and Hon. Jeff Nwachukwu.

Also on the committee are Hon. Nnamdi Nsorom, Hon. Chinedu Anyanwu, Mrs. Esther Aguwamba, Hon Nnaemeka Maduagwu, Hon Golden Nwosu, Hon. Ben Duru, Sir Martins Ejiogu, Barr. Gozie Nwachukwu and Hon. Ray Emeana, who will serve as secretary.

The committee was charged to develop a campaign structure with clearly defined job descriptions.

Responding on behalf of other members of the committee, Onyereri said: “It is important that we prepare ourselves and the party ahead of the governorship election because preparation and opportunity lead to success.”

“If you have an opportunity and there is inadequate preparation, there won’t be positive outcomes. So, what we have to do is to prepare ourselves for the task ahead.”

Imo Governorship: I will defeat Uzodinma in November — Senator Anyanwu

… decries poverty, worsened insecurity under APC-led administration

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the November 11 Imo state governorship election, Senator Samuel 'Samdaddy' Anyanwu, has expressed confidence in thwarting the incumbent Governor's re-election bid.

This was disclosed in a statement signed by the director of New media, Samuel Anyanwu Campaign Council, Dumebi Ifeanyichukwu, on Wednesday.

According to the statement, the ruling APC is jittery and afraid of their impending loss in November.

"We are not in the business of joining words with the APC or its governorship candidate, Hope Uzodinma. It is in the nature of losers to be jittery because the people of Imo have seen the light. It's no news that the Governor stole the PDP mandate through the Supreme Court in 2019. He is afraid that that will not be repeated in November."

The PDP candidate also decried the rising level of poverty, unemployment and insecurity thriving under the Uzodinma-led administration.

"Hope Uzodinma and his government has decided to impoverish the people and put them in perpetual poverty. Our young people, who are talented and educated, have no job. Imo state, today, is one of the most dreaded places in the country because of the heightened insecurity. This is the legacy of Uzodinma."

"It is shameful that the same government, which is supposed to be seeking forgiveness from the people, wants to be re-elected. Affliction shall never rise again," the statement read.

He further stated that; "The APC is agitated because the people of Imo State will not allow Uzodinma and his cronies to rig and sponsor violence in November like they did across the country during the Presidential, State and National Assembly elections. Our people will vote out APC and secure their votes from these election robbers."

The PDP candidate stated that the electorate in Imo state will not be swayed by the malfeasance allowed in the general election.

"They will vote without fear or favor. Our campaign programs are there to see so they know we will deliver," he said.
