Nnamdi Kanu: Uwazuruike Gets Clean Bill of Health; MASSOB Insists Only Him Is Genuinely Working for Biafra

OWERRI, Imo State — The leadership of the Biafra Independence Movement (BIM) and the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) has cleared its founder and leader, Chief Dr. Ralph Uwazuruike, of allegations that he betrayed the Biafra struggle.

It will be recalled that some factions of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), led by Mr. Nnamdi Kanu, who is currently serving a life sentence in Sokoto prison, had alleged that the MASSOB leader, Chief Ralph Uwazuruike, betrayed the Biafra struggle for money. Uwazuruike has consistently and vehemently denied the allegations, including in a viral live video in which he swore his innocence while holding a Holy Bible.

MASSOB also stated that it had previously cleared Uwazuruike of similar allegations made by IPOB. The movement, however, challenged IPOB leaders, including Mr. Nnamdi Kanu, to provide factual evidence to substantiate their claims against Ijele Ndigbo, Barr. (Chief) Dr. Ralph Uwazuruike.

In a press statement issued to journalists and endorsed by the MASSOB Director of Information and Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the Biafra Independence Movement, Mazi Chris Mocha, the organization absolved its leader of any wrongdoing or dishonest conduct.

According to BIM-MASSOB, anyone involved in any of the following actions is not genuinely working for the realization of Biafra:

- If you are killing your own people or anyone else in the name of fighting for Biafra, you are not working for Biafra.
- If you recruited young men and women and armed them to kill as a non-state actor, you are not working for Biafra.
- If you promised Ndigbo that Biafra would be achieved within three months—from September 2013 to December 31, 2013—you are not working for Biafra.
- If, when challenged to identify even one office where your members hold meetings in Igboland, or when someone disagrees with your method of agitation, you label that person a saboteur, you are not working for Biafra.
- If you sight Nigerian security personnel and immediately flee for your safety, you are not working for Biafra.
- If you registered your pro-Biafra organization in London, United Kingdom, as a Limited Liability Company (Ltd.) without first notifying the United Nations of your agenda for Biafra, you are not working for Biafra.
- If you are hiding in forests when there is neither Sambisa Forest nor the creeks in Igboland, you are not working for Biafra.
- If you arrogate to yourself the power to determine who lives or dies, you are not working for Biafra.
- If you are ignorant of the internationally recognized procedures for a people seeking self-determination, beginning with notifying the United Nations—a step Chief Ralph Uwazuruike took on November 1, 1999—you are not working for Biafra.
- If you directly or indirectly sponsor instability in the South-East from abroad or within Nigeria, or support any pro-Biafra movement whose objective is contrary to the actualization of Biafra, you are not working for Biafra.
- If you transformed Uwazuruike's voluntary "Stay-at-Home" protest into violent Monday sit-at-home enforcement, you are not working for Biafra.
- If Nigerian security agencies attacked your members and they retaliated by killing even one security operative, you are not working for Biafra.
- If you publicly preach non-violence while engaging in violence, you are not working for Biafra.
- If you attack Chief Ralph Uwazuruike, knowing that without him nobody would be talking about Biafra today, you are an enemy of the Biafra struggle.
- If you betrayed the trust and confidence of the originator and leader of the new Biafra struggle, Chief Ralph Uwazuruike, you are not working for Biafra.
- If you hijacked Radio Biafra London, registered it in your own name, and used it as an instrument of blackmail, propaganda, and a campaign of calumny against Ralph Uwazuruike, you are not working for Biafra.
- If you claim to be propagating Biafra without any traceable office or address in Igboland or anywhere in Nigeria, operating only through Nigerian newspapers and social media platforms, you are not working for Biafra.

The statement further maintained that it is important for Ndigbo to understand that, without Uwazuruike, nobody would be talking about Biafra today. It also asserted that Uwazuruike remains the only leader with the 25-stage roadmap for the actualization of Biafra.

The movement emphasized that any individual or group carrying weapons while claiming to represent Chief Ralph Uwazuruike in the quest for the new Biafra does so without the approval or support of BIM-MASSOB.

"For the purpose of clarity," the statement continued, "it was on the strength of Chief Ralph Uwazuruike's application to the United Nations in 1999 that the then UN Secretary-General, Kofi Annan, personally intervened to seek his immediate release from detention in 2000 during the African Union (then OAU) Heads of State Summit in Lomé, Togo."

The statement concluded that Ralph Uwazuruike has remained consistent and focused on the Biafra cause, insisting that "no amount of IPOB's blackmail or media campaign of calumny will deter him from pursuing the realization of Biafra sovereignty."

Comrade Gabriel Ogu: Our First Martyr and Hero of the New Biafra

In the archives of history, events that have occurred determine the history of tomorrow.

The New Biafra of May 22, 2000, which was characterized by the re-hoisting of the Biafra flag after it had gone into moribund status following January 15, 1970, under the leadership of Chief Dr. Ralph Uwazuruike, would be incomplete without acknowledging the role of our gallant, loyal, and astute Biafra security officer, Comrade Gabriel Ogu.

Many people today abuse our national symbol, the Biafra flag. Yet, little or nothing is known or told about the man who resisted Nigerian military personnel who attempted to pull down the Biafra flag.

Comrade Gabriel Ogu became the first Biafran martyr to be brought down while defending the Biafra national flag at 175 Faulks Road, Aba, on May 22, 2000.

Prior to the burial of Comrade Gabriel Ogu in Mbaise, Imo State, his family requested an assurance from Chief Ralph Uwazuruike that the death of their son would not be in vain. In demonstrating his innocence, sincerity, and unwavering commitment to the Biafra struggle, Chief Ralph Uwazuruike requested that the coffin be opened. He laid his hand on the co**se and swore an oath that he would never betray the Biafra struggle for the sake of his fallen comrade.

At that moment, the family, MASSOB members, and other well-wishers were astonished by what Chief Ralph Uwazuruike did before the body of Comrade Gabriel Ogu was finally committed to mother earth.

This remains one of the greatest demonstrations of commitment a responsible leader can undertake to prove his sincerity to the cause in which he believes.

Whenever people cast aspersions and attempt to assassinate the character of Chief Ralph Uwazuruike, his army of non-violence laughs such attacks to scorn because they know the quality, integrity, capacity, and sincerity of the man to whom they have pledged their loyalty.

Therefore, BIM-MASSOB members cannot be moved by mountains of propaganda, hate speech, and misinformation directed against the protagonist of the New Biafra. It takes more than ordinary courage to pursue such a noble cause in the struggle for the actualization of Biafra's independence.

Retrospective Awakening: Why Nnamdi Kanu's Family Owes Chief Ralph Uwazurike an Apology and Accountability to Ndigbo

We have gone past the time Nnamdi Kanu character assassinated Ralph Uwazurike, and we swallowed everything hook, line, and sinker because he wanted to make sure no one stood in his way of amassing wealth via Biafra. This is 12 years of milking IPOB members, negotiating with Nigeria, accepting money/SUVs, signing, sealing, and delivering deals. We now know who is who.

Nnamdi Kanu's family should know that Chief Ralph Uwazurike stood firmly when the mention of Biafra was a taboo or crime in Nigeria. He reintroduced Biafra and gave Nnamdi Kanu the opportunity he has today to even mention Biafra and got all the money he fraudulently raised with his IPOB limited liability company. If not for Uwazurike, his fraud format, "Give me guns and bullets, and I will give you Biafra next year," wouldn't have been conceived.

If Uwazurike didn't muster the courage to kick-start the movement for the restoration of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu and his family would still be struggling today. That betrayal and fraud-infested family wouldn't have the opportunity to defraud Ndigbo with IPOB. That family should at least say, 'Chief Ralph Uwazurike, thank you for everything.'

While this piece is not aimed at promoting Uwazurike or supporting his past and present actions, it's worthwhile to apologize to him for everything he unjustly suffered. Nnamdi Kanu dedicated all his efforts in the beginning to character assassinating Chief Ralph Uwazurike. Uwazurike was arrested and bailed with a condition. Nnamdi Kanu was arrested and bailed with a condition. Kettle shouldn't call pot black. That Kanu went to Kenya with IPOB money to sleep with a girl and got caught along the line wasn't Uwazurike's fault.

In this moment of retrospective awakening, it's imperative to say we are sorry for everything that transpired. It would cost nothing to say we appreciate every little shift he put in for Ndigbo. He earned the praise: it wasn't easy to have been the man who had the courage to resurrect Biafra after it was buried in 1970.

Nnamdi Kanu didn't only assassinate Uwazurike's character; he brainwashed us to believe Uwazurike was synonymous with betrayal. He focused everything he had to convince us that speaking with Nigerian government officials and figures was all it took to betray Biafra.

He convinced us to believe accepting gifts, money, or anything from the government is outright betrayal. And for every IPOB person, attacking Uwazurike was a crown of loyalty to Biafra. We didn't see the money Uwazurike collected, but despite seeing the SUV Kanu collected and the signed, sealed, and delivered deal he struck with Nigerian politicians, we have not given Kanu the same treatment he gave Ralph Uwazurike.

Nnamdi Kanu has held meetings with Nigerian politicians as confirmed by Fine Boy. He has dined with Femi Fani Kayode. He has praised a sitting governor and collected an SUV and money through his brother. He signed, sealed, and delivered a deal at the peak of the election boycott with Atiku. He urged Ndigbo to vote.

He negotiated with the Nigerian government and accepted bail conditions offered to him. Today, he even had the audacity to disband IPOB at the demand of the Nigerian government. He received money from government contacts. What is it that Nnamdi Kanu accused Uwazurike of that he Kanu has not done today?

This murderous family of betrayal even drives the SUV Governor Obiano gave them with audacity. This family even publicly made a speech in an amnesty program organized by Allen Onyema. This family even publicly announced they negotiated with the son of Tinubu. This family took Ndigbo for granted and publicly told us IPOB is their family company registered by their brother and they can make deals and take contracts. May God have mercy on us!

My anger is that this murderous family of betrayal still has the temerity to mention Uwazurike and project a thief like Kanu as the holier-than-thou leader. Nnamdi Kanu and his family are worse than Nigerian politicians. This family is heartless and without conscience.

Excuse me, what do these guys, from Nnamdi Kanu to the last in that family, take us for? Do they see Igbo people as idiots and zombies they have seized and permanently put under their spell or control? It's annoying how after everything this family has done to Ndigbo, they still talk publicly.

Who even told this family that the status quo remains and that we have not found out their antics? Fine Boy should hide his face in shame. He has traveled to Europe and is enjoying it. I don't blame him; we fell for his brother's fraud. God will pay that family back tenfold for this betrayal.

Finally, Chief Ralph Uwazurike may not be holy, but it shouldn't be Nnamdi Kanu and his family, who are worst off, that should open their filthy mouths to Uwazurike.

The people can understand and judge; at least not everyone is Nnamdi Kanu’s family zombie. Nnamdi Kanu’s family should be declared persona non grata in Ala-Igbo to pass a clear message to upcoming fraudsters that we won't take it lightly with another fraud.

To rub this fraud in our faces is to bite off more than they can chew. To confidently mention Uwazurike while his brother has done worse is insulting to Ndigbo. That family should be held responsible to return the funds and everything they fraudulently collected from Ndigbo in the name of Biafra.

How the Monster They Created Turned Against Them: The Untold Story of IPOB's Leadership Crisis

It is always very important to understand the fact that a building whose foundation is built on lies and propaganda will always be faulty, no matter how good the painting looks.

IPOB was founded on the basis of deceit, envy, and greed. Memorising the recent interview between the Ministry of Information, Biafra Internal Government, and the alleged original founder of IPOB, Barrister Emekasiri Emeka, in the interview he clearly stated that it was due to Chief Ralph Uwazuruike's refusal to honour an invitation that he organised between the people he called the Council of Elders, himself, and Chief Ralph Uwazuruike that pushed him to start his own organisation.

In his own view or words, he said that he became conscious of the MASSOB movement after its leader declared a sit-at-home in 2004, and there was massive obedience despite Uwazuruike not using force or intimidation against the Igbo people, yet everyone obeyed. He said it was then he realised that the movement was beyond Uwazuruike and that it now needed a wider expansion of authority. Then he formed what he described as the Council of Elders.

After the formation of the Council of Elders, remember that 90% of the elders he gathered and called the Council of Elders were already with Chief Ralph Uwazuruike and were always attending almost all MASSOB activities under the leadership of the MASSOB leader. According to Barrister Emekasiri, he said that he wanted the elders to take over and be in control of the leadership of the organisation while the founder, who never consulted them before founding the organisation, would only serve as the "arrowhead." By implication of his statement, Chief Ralph Uwazuruike would always be the one arrested and detained, while he himself (Barr. Emeka Emekasiri) and the Council of Elders would be the ones actually leading and dictating how the organisation was being governed. Remember, there was no consultation from these people to know the reason and how Chief Ralph Uwazuruike intended to actualise his own goals. All they cared for was who should be the leader of the organisation.

Fast forward to Radio Biafra, Barrister Emekasiri Emeka admitted that Chief Ralph Uwazuruike's former employee, Nnamdi Kanu, allegedly accused his boss or former boss of compromise, and so he accepted to welcome and admit Nnamdi Kanu into his own organisation and to work with him. Remember that in that interview, Barrister Emekasiri didn't acknowledge meeting with Uwazuruike to hear his own part of the story, which by implication means that he had always either wanted to work with Nnamdi Kanu or that he might have been looking for a way to take Uwazuruike out of the way.

Now, after admitting and handing over his radio to Nnamdi Kanu, who previously and fraudulently registered Radio Biafra, owned by MASSOB, as a private limited company owned by shares, he never cautioned him for his continuous allegations against his former boss. He was admiring and adopting all those claims without challenges. According to him, he said those things contributed to the massive growth of IPOB. He was enjoying all the allegations and blackmails from Nnamdi Kanu against Uwazuruike because they were contributing to the growth of IPOB, his new organisation.

All of a sudden, Nnamdi Kanu switched off the microphone from Uwazuruike and shifted it to him and the elders, using the same strategy and style he used against Chief Ralph Uwazuruike against Barr. Emeka Emekasiri himself. It was then he realised that all that Kanu was saying was never true, and he started looking for ways to either sack him from the organisation or do something else. Unfortunately for him, Nnamdi Kanu had taken over the microphone, and he who has the microphone controls the crowd. Subsequently, Barrister Emekasiri Emeka was sacked by Nnamdi Kanu from the organisation he formed without knowing who Nnamdi Kanu was. This was the climax of the whole thing.

We all know the truth, yet everyone kept quiet because, this time around, it looked more like karma. While Barrister Emekasiri Emeka was trying to gain confidence and become conscious of his own organisation, Nnamdi Kanu had already declared himself the leader and founder of IPOB. For sure, he was behind the microphone, and so whatever he said, the Igbo people would believe him because everyone wanted Biafra. Even if you are killing people and shouting "Biafra!", people will never look at the lives you are taking; they will focus more on those things they want to hear. Of course, Ndigbo are always emotional, forgetting the atrocious activities you are into. This was exactly what Nnamdi Kanu was into. While he was on radio shouting "Biafra! Biafra!! Biafra!!!", from behind the microphone he was ordering the beheading of those who either opposed his leadership style or advised him (Prophet Nwoko as a case study).

At a point in his radio broadcast, which was streamed live on Facebook and Instagram, Nnamdi Kanu boasted that he was the most powerful man on earth. He acknowledged that he could even dare God if he wanted to, that he could decide who lives and who dies. He boasted that he had over two million men under his command. All these were the consequences of what Barrister Emekasiri Emeka failed to investigate. Because he wanted to take over from Uwazuruike, he built the monster that eventually ate him up.

Here comes the question: Will Barrister Emekasiri Emeka still choose Nnamdi Kanu again?

Time for Reflection: Supporters Call for Public Apologies to Ralph Uwazurike Over Past Allegations

As discussions surrounding the Biafra struggle continue to evolve, growing voices within the movement are calling on individuals who publicly criticized Chief Dr. Ralph Uwazurike based on allegations made by others to reconsider their positions and make amends where necessary.

For years, Uwazurike, the founder of the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), was the target of numerous accusations, criticisms, and personal attacks. Many of these allegations were widely circulated and accepted by sections of the public, leading some individuals to openly denounce and insult him.

However, supporters of Uwazurike argue that time has exposed many of those claims as false, misleading, or politically motivated. They maintain that a coordinated effort was made by opponents within the Biafra movement to tarnish his image and diminish his decades-long contributions to the struggle for self-determination.

According to this perspective, justice and reconciliation require more than simply acknowledging the truth privately. They insist that those who publicly condemned Uwazurike based on information they now believe to be inaccurate should publicly retract such statements and offer sincere apologies.

From Boast To Reality: The Nnamdi Kanu Story.

The worst thing that will happen to a man is for him to believe that nobody is bigger than him and that he will forever remain relevant. This is the highest point of foolishness in the human race. The life of Nnamdi Kanu, the Afaraukwu-born parrot, reflects deeply on this sad reality.

Do you know that up to this moment, the watering mouth self-acclaimed supreme killer has not believed that he was sentenced to life jail? Anyway, how would he have believed when he always boasted to his gullible followers that no man on earth can even think of arresting him, not to talk of sending him to jail, even to the point of life imprisonment? Ohh, let me forget, he said that the United Nations will burn down Nigeria if he is arrested.

Unfortunately, from the time of his arrest to this moment, no known internationally recognized body has spoken about him nor his arrest, so he needs to keep bragging in order to keep his enterprise moving. The worst part is that he doesn't even believe that he is in prison, that he should rather be seeking for a presidential pardon rather than bragging over what he is not.

Apart from IPOB and their banditry, what is even the known business of all his family members? The tag-ragged Kanunta Kanu is not known for any other thing apart from the IPOB business. Ask him what he does for a living and he will tell you that he is doing Biafra. Please, my people, is Biafra a business?

Nnamdi Kanu will understand better when the hands of those whom he ordered the beheading of their beloved family members begin to touch him because even if he is released today, hands must still touch him. Either way, it will be better for him to remain in that prison and be forming and dissolving the leadership of his business enterprise.

In conclusion, the story of Nnamdi Kanu serves as a lesson on the dangers of pride, overconfidence, and believing that one is above the law or beyond accountability. Those who once believed that no force could challenge them often discover that reality has a way of proving otherwise. Time, they say, remains the ultimate judge of every action and every claim.

Nnamdi Kanu and the Questions of Leadership, Responsibility, and the Cost of Agitation.

Nnamdi Kanu and his group will forever be remembered for the heads that rolled on the ground by their own doings.

While we might consider the Fulani and Boko Haram bandits' attacks as part of the APC-led administration's programme and state-sponsored attacks, it is also important to remember that Nnamdi Kanu, on his radio broadcasts, demanded arms in order to kill the kings in Alaigbo to pave the way for the restoration of Biafra. The agenda of the bandits, on their own part, might likely be to help the government remain in power, which, of course, that agenda might seem to have accomplished.

One will now ask: has the Biafra of Nnamdi Kanu, the killer of his own people, been restored after the gruesome murder of prominent Igbo men who either refused to pay the money he billed them or openly opposed him and his style?

It is important we understand that, no matter how it is viewed, there is no verified person who is not mad that has ever brought war to his own community. Even people who are not mentally sound hardly bring fights close to their own house.

Should we now trace this rascality to the family background of Nnamdi Kanu? Knowing how difficult the Nigerian situation is, it is important we understand that, no matter how difficult things are or how poor a family could be in Alaigbo, such families usually make efforts to have either a graduate or a professionally skilled person among them.

This popular opinion becomes very difficult and different in the case of Nnamdi Kanu, where neither he nor any of his siblings is said to be a graduate or a professionally skilled person. Shouldn't we see Nnamdi Kanu and his family as people who are cursed?

The one who managed to use her private parts to gain admission into the Nigerian Police was later excommunicated, the same way Nnamdi Kanu was allegedly excommunicated from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, due to cultism and constant failure.

At the end of the day, history will judge every leader not by the volume of his speeches but by the results of his actions and the impact those actions had on his people. For many critics of Nnamdi Kanu, the unanswered question remains whether the sacrifices, bloodshed, division, and insecurity associated with his agitation have brought the Igbo nation any closer to the realization of Biafra. As the debate continues, many will continue to assess his legacy through the consequences of his methods rather than the promises that accompanied them.

To Nnamdi Kanu’s Lawyers and Family Members

What you all owe Kanu is to make sure he reads this piece of mine and make a choice.

The earlier we all admit that Nnamdi Kanu, by virtue of the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, committed acts of terrorism, the better for us.

It would enable us to do what is necessary to save him. You must know that Nigeria is a sovereign country, and not even a congressman's commentary can interfere with the constitution of a sovereign country.

Nigeria is a third-world country where the court is at the whims and caprices of the executive arm. It takes a madman to expect judgment against Tinubu in his court, let alone when there is evidence against the accused/convict.

If Finland could find Simon Ekpa guilty of terrorism, what happens to his master Nnamdi Kanu? If you people have pleaded and the federal government accepted, then I can understand this appeal is a formality to free him. But if you are appealing because you have hope, then I fear the gods have made you people mad.

I know you people have pleaded to Tinubu, and you confirmed Tinubu’s son made a promise to you on behalf of his father that he failed to keep. Brothers, the only solution is to keep begging and not go to appeal court.

Brothers, we all know there is no Biafra coming from Nnamdi Kanu. We know the money coming from IPOB is hard to forfeit, and this is why you people are fighting to hold onto the company. The Sokoto Declaration is not enough; appease the federal government more.

Brothers, you people should stop begging the government behind the scene. Kanu should stop trying to deceive his followers and come clean. He should tell them it's over, and it ended long before today. It's when he confesses that the government could consider him. If you people think that begging in secret will release Kanu, you are dreaming. You cannot pocket your followers and government at the same time. One must go.

The 100-man committee plan didn't work; the DOS has delegitimized the committee. You people need a plain and public concession to the federal government to stand a chance. Find another means, because everything you have given them didn't suffice.

It's crucial to note that you people are tightening the legal rope hanging on Kanu’s neck. As long as Nigeria got the opportunity to legally imprison Kanu, they would never let him off that hook. You can attest to it by how much you people and Kanu have pleaded in secret and how they refused.

The terrorism in question is distinct from self-determination. Kanu has every right to ask for Biafra, but he has no right to use his Radio Biafra to issue orders for the murder of persons, be they security operatives, politicians, or innocent Igbo wrongly tagged saboteurs.

When one decides to violently and militarily go about self-determination, he has one option: either he succeeds and creates a new country or he dies for crimes that accompany it.

Your brother Nnamdi Kanu failed to violently carve out Biafra. Your client failed to make a significant mark or claim territories, and now he faces the consequences. The federal government has tendered its cross-appeal application. Well, demanding the death penalty is scary, and dying for Biafra is a thing of honor, but dying for self-deceit is a thing of shame.

I want your brother and client to go home and enjoy the money he made with his IPOB company. But if he believes deceiving himself to gain more will suffice, so be it.

My solution is simple. Let him confess his deceit to the people of Biafra. Let him beg the federal government openly. Let him publicly distance himself from the Biafra he destroyed by shedding the blood of innocent Biafrans like Akuwara, Prophet Nwoko, and many others.

If he openly begs the federal government and asks for forgiveness. If he openly apologizes to the Igbo people. If he looks at himself and embraces truth, I believe he will be saved from this predicament. This is prophetic advice.
