*Akaraka Foundation Pioneers Educational Equity: Over 110 Orsu Students Sponsored for JAMB & WAEC*

In a remarkable display of commitment to educational empowerment, the Akaraka Foundation, under the leadership of Hon. Ifeanyi Destiny Nwadikwa, has sponsored over 60 Orsu students for the 2025 Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination. Additionally, the foundation extended its benevolence to financially challenged students in need of support for the forthcoming West African Examinations Council (WAEC) exams, ensuring that no student is left behind due to financial hardship. Registration remains open for interested Orsu students.

*The initiative, originally announced via social media, invited Orsu students unable to afford JAMB registration to come forward for assistance. Staying true to its promise, the Akaraka Foundation not only provided JAMB forms for over 60 students but also covered transportation costs and offered refreshments during registration.*

Furthermore, it intervened swiftly to facilitate WAEC registration for students before the late entry deadline, ensuring they had an equal opportunity to pursue academic excellence.

Beyond financial sponsorship, the foundation took proactive steps to remove logistical barriers that could have hindered participation. Students lacking National Identification Numbers (NINs) were promptly enrolled, while those without SIM cards were assisted in obtaining them, streamlining the entire process and ensuring no one was left behind.

This extensive registration drive reached Orsu indigenes in Lagos, Benin, Owerri, Onitsha, and beyond, while villages including Awo-Idemili, AIA, Orsuihiteukwa, Eziawa, Amannachi, Umuhu, and Ebenator witnessed their youth empowered through this transformative initiative.

"Chinese Investment Group Seizes Nigerian Properties in Liverpool to Recover $70 Million Arbitration Award

A Chinese investment company, Zhongshang Fucheng Industrial Investment Ltd, has taken control of two residential properties in Liverpool, UK, owned by Nigeria, to enforce a $70 million arbitration award. The properties were seized in June 2024, following a British court order in December 2021, allowing the company to target Nigerian assets in the UK due to the outstanding payment and accrued interest.

The dispute originated from a 2001 trade treaty violation by Ogun State, resulting in a 2021 arbitration judgment in favor of Zhongshang. The company alleged that Ogun State used federal agencies against them without due process, leading to the expulsion and alleged torture of two executives.

The properties, valued at $2.2 million, will be sold to recover the arbitration award, with plans to list them on eBay. The sale is part of efforts to enforce the award, with several European courts granting orders against Nigeria. The case adds to Nigeria's legal troubles, following a recent arbitration decision in favor of P&ID."

His Excellency, Hon. Uche Ben Odunzeh, along with his delegation, recently embarked on a visit to the vibrant markets of Mbaise, solidifying support for the upcoming November 11, 2023 election.

On a sunny day, the esteemed market women and youth of Afor-Ogbe and Afor-Enyiogugu in Mbaise wholeheartedly welcomed Hon. Uche Ben Odunzeh with a resounding chant of victory, as they yearn for a transformative change in the government of Imo State.

The market women voiced their grievances, highlighting the challenges they face, such as restricted business activities, poor government services, and decreased patronage from neighboring states due to the current state of insecurity in Imo.
