My Canadian Transit Adventure!
When I first came to Canada, one of the first things that caught my attention was the transit system. Back home, buses and trains were not always reliable, so I honestly did not know what to expect here.
The very first day I hopped on a bus, I was amazed. Everything was so clean and well-organized. The seats were tidy, the floors spotless, and the schedules were easy to read. The drivers even greeted passengers with a warm “Good morning,” which made the ride feel welcoming and safe.
One thing that completely melted my heart was how people would say “thank you” to the driver as they got off the bus. It is such a small gesture, yet it speaks volumes about the kindness and respect in Canadian culture.
And the views from the windows are unforgettable. Every season has its own beauty. In winter, you see streets blanketed with snow. In spring, the cherry blossoms paint the city with soft colors. By autumn, the leaves turn fiery shades of red and gold, making every ride feel like you are passing through a painting. Sometimes, I just sit quietly with a cup of coffee, taking it all in.
Of course, it is not perfect every day. There are times when the bus takes longer to arrive or when the train is so crowded you have to stand the whole way. On freezing winter mornings, waiting at the stop can feel like a challenge.
Still, I have come to love it. The bus and train are not just ways to get around. They have become part of my Canadian journey. Each ride holds little moments of connection and reflection, whether it is sharing a smile with a stranger or watching the sunrise as the city wakes up.
If you are planning to move to Canada, know that the transit system is not just neat and organized, but also filled with small, beautiful experiences that will stay with you. Bring your gloves, your patience, and an open heart.
