As a daughter of a family who didn't marry, or for some reasons you find yasef single, buy a piece of land and build in your village, Yes you can; for your own safety , peace of mind honor and respect, don't worry about who inherits when you die, it doesn't matter at all, your family people can inherit it, your kids can if you have any, you can will it to the church or to charity, but you need peace and happiness around you while you are still on this planet and a place you can call your own, no insults , no interferences , no see finish of any kind.
If you check through my wall here you will see the Nwa Ada of Ogidi her late brothers children threw out of their fathers house forgetting shes a bona-fide legit daughter of the family, now she's invoking all the deities and alusis of Ogidi to intervene, this could have been avoided if she thought to get a piece of land and build her own house, who knows she might have spent her whole resources and finances she could have used to establish herself taking care of these mean hearted loveless relatives that threw her out in her old age.
Daughters should do better especially if you are surrounded by siblings or family members who don't like you.
Life is for the living. Life is also unpredictable, some marry and loose husbands and because of childlessness or any reason leave their husbands house, some are divorced for so many reasons, some never got married at all, stop thinking you can't build your own house and legacy in your village, you can ask your kinsmen for a piece of land which some are willing to give for a token or even for free , you can also buy the land yourself , whatever happens, think about your future, comfort and well being .
This situation has driven some umu adas from living in the town forever and discarding home, it shouldn't be that way.
Again your building at home might also be the reason why your family members; brothers and sisters have a roof over their head; because the family couldn't afford building anything.
Whatever the case my dear Nwa Ada and daughter, there's nothing stopping you from building in your father's land, if anything your umunne and umunna now have an extended home π‘ and they will be very proud of you, don't say am just a girl, if i build who will inherit it when I die lol π well you have brothers sisters and relatives , so your efforts won't go to waste, and while you still live in this world, you're comfortable at least.
If you don't have the resources to build even a single room, may God help you as you try every thing possible to co habit with them..Omewara ma Chi ekweghi, onye uta atala ya..
I come in Peace βοΈ Nti odikwa?
