So, I went to my cousin's house days ago to visit her.

When I walked in I met her and her husband argûing.

Her husband was carrying a pot of soup.

Immediately I entered her husband started complaining to me that each time he gave my cousin money to prepare food my cousin would prepare a small quantity of food that would not last for them till the next day.

They were both rîsing their vóices.

I tried calming them down but I couldn't I just carried my small self and sat down.

From their quarrel, I discovered what the problem was.

The husband was àccûsîng the wife of pocketing some of the money he brings for feeding.

From what her husband said I asked my cousin if they still make a pot of rice with 6k for three people (herself, her husband, and their only child) even when they don't have rice at home.

She said I've seen things for myself even her husband doesn't know she adds her money to the things she buys from the market.

I told the husband I was sorry to intrude but I could not prepare a pot of white rice and stew with 6k as Nîgérîà is now despite that I live alone.

The husband said that I'm trying to live large that's why 6k can't be enough for me to make a pot of white rice and stew.

He said since it is only me that 3k is supposed to be enough for me.

I didn't respond again so it won't look like I came to challenge my in-law in his house.

My cousin refused to collect the 6k he was giving her to go to the market.

She told her husband he should go to the market and buy things by himself.

The husband got angry I went to the market then me and my cousin went and sat in her shop just in front of their compound.

Her husband was driving up and down the street.

The 5th time he drove passed his wife's shop the wife laughed and screamed "Oku di over" (fîré is excess)

It wasn't up to 1hr the husband came back with a bag of rice and a carton of ground nut oil.

The husband came to where we sat with this disappointed smile on his face and said: so fresh tomatoes of 1k are now four pieces? That means if people like me and my family want to eat white rice and stew I will budget 15k for fresh tomatoes alone. Nîgérîà is héàding to a cràsh.

His wife didn't give him a smiley face I was just the one responding to him.

He went to his wife and begged her to smile for him and stop giving him a mean face.

His wife said she's happy he has seen things for himself.

The husband looked at me and asked me how have I been coping.

I used 30 seconds and narrate the story of my life to him.

I told him a lot is going through me right now as I'm going through a lot.

I was still telling him that I and a lot were embracing each other at that moment he said I should send my account.

I sent it I saw a credit alert of 50k.

👇👇 this is me dancing in front of their gate as I was about to trek home.

To many husbands that don't know what things are been sold in the market: know today that four pieces of fresh tomatoes are 1k and four pieces of fresh pepper are #200.

To many rich uncles and in-laws, please remember your people today. They are bàttlîng with Nîgéria and Nigerîà is winning the bàttlé.

Shàré this póst so it will get to many husbands, Uncles, and in-laws out there.

My name is Amaka Ember.
