A young man had only ₦500 left.

On his way home, he saw an old woman sitting by the roadside, looking helpless.

He wanted to walk past… but something inside him said, “Help her.”

He gave her the ₦500.

That night, he went home hungry.

The next morning, someone called him and said:

“Congratulations! You have been selected for a job you applied for months ago.”

His salary was far more than he had ever imagined.

Every evening, Dad sat in the same chair waiting for his son to come home.

One day, the son said,
“Dad, I’m too busy today.”

That night, Dad passed away.

The next evening, the son came home early and sat beside the empty chair.

He whispered,
“Dad, today I have time… but you’re no longer here.”

Every morning, an old mother called her son.

“Have you eaten?” she would ask.

“I'm busy, Mum. I'll call you later.”

Days became weeks. One evening, his phone rang again. He ignored it.

The next morning, a neighbor called him.

“Please come home. Your mother is gone.”

He rushed home, crying.

On her table, he found a small note:

“My son, I knew you were busy. I only called because hearing your voice made me feel less alone.”

He sat down and wept.
