Process
• Sugarcane stalks are fed into a manual or small mechanical crusher.
• The machine squeezes the cane.
• Fresh sugarcane juice flows into containers.
• Fresh sugarcane juice is poured into large metal pots.
• The pots are placed over firewood.
• The juice boils and thickens into syrup.
• The boiling continues until the juice becomes thick syrup.
• Workers stir constantly to prevent burning.
• The thick syrup is poured into trays or molds.
• As it cools, it crystallizes and forms sugar blocks or granules.
