How Villagers Turn Sugarcane into Sugar (Traditional Process)

Process
• Sugarcane stalks are fed into a manual or small mechanical crusher.
• The machine squeezes the cane.
• Fresh sugarcane juice flows into containers.

• Fresh sugarcane juice is poured into large metal pots.
• The pots are placed over firewood.
• The juice boils and thickens into syrup.

• The boiling continues until the juice becomes thick syrup.
• Workers stir constantly to prevent burning.

• The thick syrup is poured into trays or molds.
• As it cools, it crystallizes and forms sugar blocks or granules.

🧼 BLACK SOAP (African Black Soap)

🥥 Ingredients Used

Traditional African black soap is made from natural materials:
• Cocoa pod ash (burnt cocoa pods)
• Plantain peel ash (dried & burnt)
• Palm kernel oil
• Palm oil
• Coconut oil (optional)
• Shea butter (optional for smoothness)
• Water

Optional (for beauty version):
• Honey
• Aloe vera gel
• Turmeric powder
• Fragrance (optional)

How To Produce Black Soap

STEP 1: Prepare the Ash
• Dry cocoa pods or plantain peels.
• Burn them completely to ash.
• Sieve the ash to remove stones or big particles.

STEP 2: Extract the Potash Water
• Put the ash in a bowl.
• Add clean water.
• Stir well and allow to settle.
• Sieve the liquid — this brown liquid is your alkaline solution (natural lye).

STEP 3: Heat the Oils
• Pour palm oil and palm kernel oil into a pot.
• Heat gently (do not overboil).
• Add shea butter if using.

STEP 4: Mix the Ash Water with Oil
• Slowly add the ash water into the warm oil.
• Stir continuously for 30–45 minutes.
• The mixture will thicken and turn dark brown.

STEP 5: Cook & Solidify
• Keep stirring on low heat until thick.
• Allow it to cool.
• Mold into desired shapes or break into pieces.

Let it cure for 1–2 weeks before selling.

Ingredients
• Caustic soda
• Soda ash
• Texapon
• Sulphonic acid
• STPP (optional)
• Foam booster
• Salt
• Water
• Color
• Fragrance

1: Dissolve Caustic Soda
• Mix caustic soda with water.
• Allow to dissolve and cool for 12–24 hours.

STEP 2: Mix Sulphonic Acid
• In a separate bowl, mix sulphonic acid with water.
• Stir gently.

STEP 3: Combine Ingredients
• Add dissolved caustic soda gradually.
• Add texapon and soda ash.
• Stir slowly and continuously.

STEP 4: Add Additives
• Add foam booster.
• Add color.
• Add fragrance.

STEP 5: Adjust Thickness
• Dissolve salt in water.
• Add gradually until desired thickness is achieved.

Let it settle for 24 hours before packaging.
