I will give thanks to you
because I have been so amazingly and miraculously made.
Your works are miraculous, and my soul is fully aware of this. Psalm 139-14
Mediation ...
In the quiet corners of our lives, away from the bustling noise and the flashing screens, there lies a profound truth waiting to be discovered. Beyond the clamor for validation, beyond the insatiable quest for approval through digital likes and shares, there is a whisper that speaks of who we truly are.
We have stepped into a world where identity is a canvas, often painted with the hues of public opinion and the fleeting strokes of social media personas. Yet, in this grand masquerade, we find souls aching for authenticity, yearning for a reflection that goes deeper than the superficial mirror of societal expectations.
From our first breath, we have been sculpted by the hands of circumstance and the chisel of words spoken to usâwords that may have been carelessly tossed or meticulously carved by those we held dear. These words, like seeds, have taken root in the fertile soil of our hearts, growing into narratives that shadow our steps into adulthood.
However, within the sacred text of Psalm 139, we uncover a narrative that breaks the mold, a narrative authored by the Divine. "I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Your works are wonderful, I know that full well." These words, breathed from the heart of the Creator, extend an invitation to reclaim the identity that was lovingly woven together in the secret place.
You are not the sum of the expectations placed upon you, nor are you the echo of the careless whispers that have sought to define you. You are a masterpiece of the Most High, a tapestry of grace and strength, meticulously crafted with purpose and love.
Let us silence the cacophony of the world's voices and tune our hearts to the gentle rhythm of God's affirmations. He calls us chosen, beloved, and His own. In this divine embrace, we find our true selvesâfar from the reach of the world's fleeting applause, nestled in the eternal approval of the One who fashioned us with intention.
Prayer
Gracious Father, in the quiet sanctuary of Your presence, I come before You, grateful for the masterpiece You've created in me. Thank You for seeing beyond the facades I present to the world, for knowing my truest self. Help me to discard the labels that I've clung to, the false identities that have left me yearning for more. Let Your truth resonate within me, silencing the lies that have sought to steal my worth.
Teach me to see myself through Your eyes, to cherish my uniqueness as a testament to Your creativity and love. May I walk with the confidence of one who is deeply known and profoundly loved by You. In the moments of doubt and comparison, remind me that I am fearfully and wonderfully made, not by human hands, but by Yoursâhands that were stretched on a cross in love for me.
In the sacred name of Jesus, who redeems and restores, I pray, Amen.
