BE GENEROUS WITH GOD'S GIFTS - REV. OSUKA
Whatever opportunity given to you, use it judiciously for your benefits and that of others.
The Vicar-in-charge of Holy Trinity Anglican Church Oru Ahiara East in Ahiazu Mbaise LGA, Rev. Canon Vinson Osuka gave the injunction in his sermon marking Thanksgiving Service in the parish.
Preaching on the theme: "Occupy till I come," drawn from Luke 19:13-27, the cleric harped on the importance for one to utilize God's given talent to impact positively on others.
Rev. Osuka called on children of God not to be stingy with talents/wealth God has given them but to use them to serve God and humanity, diligently.
He narrated the story of how ‭a man of noble birth went to a distant country to have himself appointed king and then to return, saying, "So he called ten of his servants and gave them ten minas. ‘Put this money to work,’ he said, ‘until I come back.’ ‭“But his subjects hated him and sent a delegation after him to say, ‘We don’t want this man to be our king.’ “He was made king, however, and returned home. Then he sent for the servants to whom he had given the money, in order to find out what they had gained with it. “The first one came and said, ‘Sir, your mina has earned ten more.’ “ ‘Well done, my good servant!’ his master replied. ‘Because you have been trustworthy in a very small matter, take charge of ten cities.’ “The second came and said, ‘Sir, your mina has earned five more.’ “His master answered, ‘You take charge of five cities.’ “Then another servant came and said, ‘Sir, here is your mina; I have kept it laid away in a piece of cloth. I was afraid of you, because you are a hard man. You take out what you did not put in and reap what you did not sow.’ “His master replied, ‘I will judge you by your own words, you wicked servant! You knew, did you, that I am a hard man, taking out what I did not put in, and reaping what I did not sow? Why then didn’t you put my money on deposit, so that when I came back, I could have collected it with interest?’ “Then he said to those standing by, ‘Take his mina away from him and give it to the one who has ten minas.’ “ ‘Sir,’ they said, ‘he already has ten!’ “He replied, ‘I tell you that to everyone who has, more will be given, but as for the one who has nothing, even what they have will be taken away. But those enemies of mine who did not want me to be king over them—bring them here and kill them in front of me.’ ”
Continuing, he said, "Eschew hatred and bear no malice. Imbibe spirit of forgiveness. Repent. Malice is not good. The good shall always prevail. God will bless those who lives according to his will. He who loves good will always receive goodness. It shall be well with those who give. Those who are merciful will receive mercy."
Unveiling the theme of 2025 Harvest, tagged, "Harvest of Divine Possibilities," which he restated would hold on Sunday 28th December with Ezinwa Nelson Ezeji as Harvest Committee Chairman and Mrs. Mercel Madu as Secretary, Rev. Osuka said the concept was drawn from 1 Kings 17:7-24 "Elijah and the Widow of Zarephath," where Elijah asked the widow for water and then for a piece of bread she believed would be her and her son's final meal and thereafter, their death.
The clergyman said she had only a small amount of flour and oil but gave all as Elijah requested and God intervened by causing her jar of flour and jug of oil not to run out but instead provided for them throughout the famine.
He reiterated that
the more one gives, the more he/she receives and urged the faithful not to tighten their hands but give cheerfully for bountiful blessings and well-being.

The First Lesson was taken from Luke 19:11-27 "Put the Gift to work," and Second Lesson, 2 Corinthians 5:6 "We must give account before the judgement seat of Christ."

GOD HAS PURPOSE FOR ALL THINGS - FR. UKAWUBA
Children of God have been enjoined to desist from complaining when things appears to be going wrong but work harder and be optimistic for God has a purpose in all things.
The Administrator, Ahiara Mbaise Mater Ecclesiae Catholic Cathedral Parish (Mother of the Church) in Nnarambia Ahiara, Ahiazu Mbaise LGA, Fr. Augustine Ukawuba gave the injunction in his homily marking Exaltation of The Cross in the parish.
Preaching on the theme: "Let us accept our Crosses in good Faith," the cleric said, "The cross was formerly seen as a thing of curse, but Christ came and transformed it
into a thing of victory, into a thing of hope, into a thing of salvation."
He stated that Christ left an example by suffering and dying on the Cross, so we should follow in his footsteps, such that as Christians we also experience the cross in our lives.
He harped on need to adopt the attitude of patience and humility in any situation one experiences the cross in life and not grumbling against God and against man, for whatever happens in the life of man is very much known to God.
Continuing, he stated, "We are celebrating the Victory of Christ, the Triumph of the Cross. Christ transformed the meaning of the Cross. In the letter of St. James, James said, 'That we should count it all joy when trials of all sorts come our way. For our ability to persevere in trials produces patience and perseverance, and when perseverance is perfect, we have become perfect. So let every person accept whatever that comes his way,
seeing the hand of God in his situation and our situation, and knowing that from these difficult situations, God will also deliver us, knowing or seeing our patience, and our perseverance in such situations.'"
Fr. Ukawuba underscored that God revealed his greatest glory when his Son, Jesus was lifted up on the cross, reechoing that the feast of the Exaltation of the Cross reminds us that Jesus saved us through his death on the cross and that the Church treats the cross with great respect because of the Saviour who became obedient unto death, even death on a cross and won victory through it.

: CHRIST HAVE TRIUMPH OVER DEATH - FR. ONUOHA
https://youtu.be/HLX8Vj0v-Xs?si=0271nQtbUcGEtzMc

As the Christendom mark 2025 Easter Celebration, the commemoration of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ from death, Christians have been enjoined to hold strongly to the faith in the resurrection of Jesus Christ to reap the benefits derivable from his triumph of death.
The Education Secretary, Ahiara Mbaise Catholic Diocese, Fr. Augustine Onuoha gave the injunction in his homily marking Easter Sunday Mass Celebration at St. Brigid's Catholic Church Nnarambia Ahiara in Ahiazu Mbaise LGA.
Preaching on the theme: "The Joy of Christ Resurrection," the clergyman said his resurrection has strengthened and emboldened us and above all set us free from the captivity of the devil.
He stated that till death, the resurrection of Christ remains a mystery and that even Peter and the apostles, the Chief Priests, the Teachers of the Law and the Pharisees did not believe that Jesus would rise.
He recalled that it was for this reason that the authorities gave the Watchmen watching over Jesus tomb orders to spread lies that his body was stolen.
Continuing, he said: "Many people have tried to die and rise, among them, D Lawrence but they could not make it. If Christ did not die and resurrected, our faith would have been in vain. He die to open the gate of eternity so that the devil cannot hold us bound. His death and resurrection strengthen us. The devil claims the world belongs to him but it was the resurrection that humiliated him. The power of the resurrection is a force that empowers us. In faith, there is no doubt. The faith in the resurrection led the apostles to great miracles. With it, we are great achievers in the world. We are in the world but we are children of heaven. With God all things are possible. We must live up to the vow of baptism. God gives us sufficient grace for that. We longer live for ourselves, we live for Christ. Our live does not end here. If we believe in the resurrection, let us look up to it. Let us help one another and garner souls for God. Let us live life worthy of our calling to the glory of God."

The First Reading was taken from Acts 10:34a.37-43 “We ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead,” Responsorial Psalm - Psalm 118: 1-2.15c- 17.22-23 R. 24 "This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice in it and be glad," Second Reading - Colossians 3:1-4 “Seek the things that are above, where Christ is,” Gospel Acclamation - Corinthians 5:7b.8a "Alleluia, alleluia. Christ, our Paschal Lamb, has been sacrificed; let us, therefore, celebrate the festival in the Lord. Alleluia! Gospel - John 20:1-9 “He must rise from the dead.”
