MIDDLE EAST ESCALATORY TENSION: I commend the courageous response of the Iranian government in retaliating the western-backed aggression by apartheid Israeli regime.

Unfortunately, this proxy war of attrition is being waged by the West led by the US, France, UK, and their NATO allies against Russia 🇷🇺, China, North Korea 🇰🇵 on the Middle East Front.

Some of the major significance of the war is that;

1. It will expose many lies by the Israeli apartheid regime that they have the backings of “god”

2. It will proof wrong the aged-long Israeli military myths that no missile can pe*****te their defenses systems.

3. The world will discover new technological innovations and prowess of Russia, North Korea, China and Iranian military Ingenuity.

4. There will be New World Order through balance of global terror between the exploitative western colonizers and the Russo-Chinese Mutual Defense Pact.

5. The war will resurrect the Arab League Awakening amongst the Middle Easterners and Military Coup in African continental front.

Those supporting Israeli aggression on the bases of religious considerations will be disappointed at the end of the war, because as they have “god of Israel” so there are god of Iran, god of China, god of Korea whom they pray to and receive their answers.

Thus, “Warsaw Shall See War and War No More”

DEMOCRATIC CIVILITY AND THE RIGOROUS POLITICAL PROCESS OF UNCOMMON TRANSITIONS AND TRANSFORMATIONS IN NIGERIA SINCE 1960...

DEMOCRATIC CIVILITY AND THE RIGOROUS POLITICAL PROCESS OF UNCOMMON TRANSITIONS AND TRANSFORMATIONS IN NIGERIA SINCE 1960 TILL DATE

By Ijele Chimezie Odemenam,MFS,CPS

Upon attainment of political Independence on October 1st, 1960 from its British colonial overlord, Nigeria, as a country with heterogeneous ethnic population has been grossly enmeshed in a plethora of intractable socioeconomic and political quagmire till date.

Between 1960-1963, Nigeria operated a parliamentary system of government with Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe as a ceremonial President and Alhaji Tafawa Balewa as the Prime Minister with other regional premiers.

Between 1963-1966, Nigeria was engulfed with political turmoil and upheaval within the political parties as at the time in view, especially the western dominated Action Group [AG].

On January 15th, 1966 the political squabbles blossomed into military coup that led to the death of several prominent politicians who were believed to be responsible for the political violence in the country.

After the coup, Major General Johnson Thomas Umunnakwe Aguiyi-Ironsi from Umuana-Ndume Ibeku in Umuahia Abia state became Nigeria’s first military Head of State.

Between January 15th, 1966-July 29th, 1966, a counter-coup was launched by the sons of the caliphate, and General Ironsi was gruesomely assassinated by the coup leaders and Colonel Yakubu Gowon became the new and second military Head of State.

General Gowon’s era witnessed a massive pogrom against the Easterners across the Northern region of the country with no intention to forestalling the organized onslaught meted against a particular tribe/ethnic nationality.

Between 1967-1970, the violent attacks degenerated into a full scale civil war between the federal government and the separatist Biafran Nation under General Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu.

By the year 1975, another military coup took place following the removal of General Gowon and the assumption of General Murtala Mohammed and General Olusegun Obasanjo as the third military Head of State.

By 1976, General Murtala Mohammed was assassinated by Colonel Buka S**a Dimka during Jumat service in Lagos and General Obasanjo became the fourth military Head of State.

By the year 1979, General Obasanjo handed power over the a civilian president, Alhaji Shehu Shagari and Dr. Alex Ekwueme as the Vice President.

By the year 1983, General Mohammadu Buhari and Brigadier General Tunde Idiagbon led military junta ousted the civilian administration of President Shehu Shagari and Dr. Alex Ekwueme and became the fifth military Head of State.

By the year 1985, General Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida led military coup ousted General Buhari and became the sixth military Head of State.

By the year 1993, the Babangida government had announced two party system reforms for Nigeria:- the Social Democratic Party [SDP] and the National Republican Convention [NRC].

By June of that same year the election was held and the SDP candidate, Chief Moshood Kashimawo Abiola won the presidential election and it was annulled by the Babangida led junta.

After series of local and foreign pressure, General Babangida abdicated from office and handed over to Chief Ernest Shonikan as the Interim President.

By November 1993, General Sani Abacha staged a palace coup that ousted the Interim President and became the seventh military Head of State.

By the year 1998, General Abacha died in office and General Abdusalami Abubakar became the eighth military Head of State.

In the year 1999, General Abdusalami Abubakar handed over power to General Obasanjo as a civilian president.

OFFICE OF THE EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN, NJABA LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA

PRESS RELEASE No: NJLGA/EC/001/VL.R50

SUBJECT: CHIEF VITALIS UGOCHUKWU OBI CELEBRATES WITH NJABA PEOPLE ON THE 2025 DEMOCRACY DAY COMMEMORATION

The Executive Chairman of Njaba Local Government Council, Chief Vitalis Ugochukwu Obi [Etiokwe-Njaba] has felicitated the good people of Njaba on the national occasion of the year 2025 Democracy Day commemoration.

While delivering his message of goodwill and Renewed Hope, the people’s leader called on our people to unite collectively in championing the cause of our nascent democracy to continue thriving as the universally accepted best form of government.

The pragmatic political master strategist reiterated that for the past 26 years now, our country Nigeria has been undergoing a tough transformation process after decades of protracted military rule that really crippled our economy into comatose with monumental legacy of unbridled corruption which the current democratic system has been working relentlessly to address in all ramifications.

The Mini-Governor of Njaba Local Government Area, Chief Vitalis Ugochukwu Obi recounted the experience and ordeals of late Chief MKO Abiola in the hands of the military junta of the 1993 political debacle that gave birth to the famous June 12 election which ought to have ended the decades of protracted military dictatorship and return Nigeria to the path of civil rule and added that late Chief Abiola’s legacy and sacrifice for our nation should not be forgotten by any generation.

Further more , the political consensus builder urged our people to always appreciate the inputs of great patriotic leaders who fought for the survival of democracy in Nigeria, our state and our Local Government Area because the perceived worst democratic government is far more better than the assumed “best military regime” as the military are trained to combat terror, external threats and defend our territorial integrity and not to govern a nation.

Indeed, democracy is a reflection of our shared humanity, where every individual’s rights and freedoms are safeguarded guaranteed.

Thus, democracy remains the vocal voice of the majority and a journey of continuous progress and improvement, towards striving for a more inclusive and just society as a better system for all ideal societies.

Happy Democracy Day Commemoration to you all, Ndi Njaba!

*ImoCare Health Insurance: Affordable Access for All Imo Residents, Says Dr. Uchenna Ewelike*

Prince Eze Ugochukwu

The Imo State Health Insurance Agency, led by Executive Secretary and CEO Dr. Uchenna Ewelike, is driving an ambitious enrollment campaign for the ImoCare Health Insurance Programme, aiming to cover 2.7 million residents across the state’s 27 Local Government Areas (LGAs).

In a recent address, Dr. Ewelike clarified key details about the ongoing initiative, emphasizing its inclusivity, affordability, and transformative potential for public health in Imo State.

The ImoCare programme requires an annual payment of N15,000 per person. However, Dr. Ewelike stressed that vulnerable individuals, identified by trained agency staff, are enrolled free of charge. “Our staff are equipped to target those in need during enrollment. We are a smart agency committed to ensuring no one is left behind,” he said.

Funding for vulnerable populations comes from a coalition of contributors, including Governor Hope Uzodimma, LGA authorities, members of the House of Representatives, House of Assembly, Senate, government appointees, philanthropists, and other supporters of the Imo State Government.

ImoCare covers essential health services to keep residents healthy and productive, though it excludes cancer management. Dr. Ewelike emphasized the programme’s impartiality, stating, “Health needs don’t know parties, tribes, or religion.” Enrollment is mandatory for access, as only registered individuals receive an access code to utilize services at accredited public or private healthcare facilities within Imo State’s provider network.

For families where all members are vulnerable, Dr. Ewelike assured full enrollment, noting, “It is the duty of the government to protect the weak, and that is what we are doing in Imo State.”

The programme’s target is to enroll 100,000 residents per LGA, totaling 2.7 million across the state. Dr. Ewelike expressed confidence in achieving this goal, citing unwavering political support and calling for public cooperation to raise awareness about this high-impact health intervention. “By the grace of God and with the support of Imolites, we will reach this historic milestone,” he said.

The ImoCare Health Insurance Programme represents a bold step toward universal health coverage in Imo State, ensuring equitable access to healthcare for all residents, regardless of their socio-economic status.
