OTURA YEKU — The Amulet 🕯️🌿
There are protections that don't break the day they are received… they break the day they are neglected.
On this path, there was a man with many desires.
He wanted to open his paths.
He wanted to obtain what he longed for.
And so he went to the home of an Osainist.
There, they told him they could prepare an amulet for him so that everything he sought would come to him.
But they also warned him of something important:
it wasn't enough to simply have it.
It had to be tended to.
It had to be cared for.
Its proper care had to be followed.
The man agreed.
And soon, he began to see results.
Things started falling into place for him.
What once seemed far away began to draw near.
But as often happens, when improvement arrived, so did neglect.
Little by little, he grew tired of tending to the amulet. What he once cherished with faith, he began to see as a burden.
Until one day he decided to get rid of it.
He went out onto the road.
He walked far from his house.
And he left it lying far away, as if it had no value.
On his way back, he met a boy walking with a small dog.
The boy looked at him and said:
"Sir, look what you've left behind."
The man replied:
"That's not mine."
But the boy followed him, repeating the same thing over and over.
Until the man, annoyed and tired, reacted badly and gave him a biscuit.
Then the unexpected happened.
The dog bit him.
And in that instant, the boy was transformed into Osanyin.
There he understood, too late, what he had done.
He hadn't just disregarded a simple object.
He had rejected protection.
He had disrespected that which had opened his paths.
And from that moment, the man was ruined.
Moral: Ifá and Orisa teach that what protects you also deserves respect, constancy, and attention. A blessing that is neglected can become a downfall. ✨
