2023/2024 ORIENTATION FOR INTERNS OF THE DEPARTMENT OF ENGLISH AND COMMUNICATION ARTS / LAUNCHING OF MAST FOR AMAZING 90.0 FM
THEME: DIALOGUE OF THE LEGENDS
"THE QUADRANGLE"
The program for 2023/24 academic session held on the 19th of September 2023, titled Dialogue of the Legends, "The QUADRANGLE" at Science Village, Ignatius Ajuru University of Education was aimed at grooming and preparing prospective interns of the department of English and Communication Arts in order to be able to face and accept new challenges beyond their classrooms at their various Internship centers and organizations.
However, it was a full circle event that housed the following guest speakers of the day;
1. Prof. Kontein Trinya - Director, Institute of Distance Learning, Chairman - Amazing 90.0FM
2. Prof. Ken Ibiere Maduako - Associate Dean, Faculty of Humanities.
3. Dr. Cajetan Onuoha - Head of Department, English and Communication Arts.
4. Mrs. Comfort Otuene - Chairman, Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN) for River State House of Assembly.
5. Mr. Paul Nnachi - CEO, NAPOK Media
6. Martey-TEMPLE - Head of Station, Director of Media Internship Practice Amazing 90.0 FM
7. Miss Etoma Samuel Eremi - Assistant Head of Station, Amazing 90.0 FM.
The Orientation comprised of Interactions, Words of Wisdom, Insights as well as directives and measures to be taken ahead of the Six (6) months intensive Internship.
Prizes are to be awarded to the Best Student/ Intern in the following categories;
1. The Prof. Kontein Trinya Award for Best Presenter - N30,000 only.
2. The Prof. Ken Maduako Award for Best News Writer -
N15,000 only
3. The International Communications Association(ICA) Award for Best Correspondent - An all paid expense trip to Lagos State Nigeria.

In addition to the Orientation, the management of Amazing 90.0 FM has launched it's mast officially and has however proven to operate on a scale above 50megahertz as its range covers the entire institution and Rumuolumeni Community respectfully in Port Harcourt. The management has urged all well and meaningful people of Port Harcourt and students of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education to show support, patronage and honest reviews for the growth of the New Media as well as for Interns to build their strength in their various choices of Communication Arts.
