*Otto Kindred Celebrates Reunion and Unveils Ancestral Community Hall*
As Nigeria marks her 65th independence anniversary in a low-key, the Otto kindred (MGBU OTTO) in Ngwomati community of Odunwere sub-clan of Elelenwo in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, celebrated a significant milestone on Wednesday, 1st October 2025, as they celebrated a reunion and officially unveiled their ancestral community hall.
According to the head Chief Eze Ernest Otto, Elder Raphael Otto, the Mgbu Chairman Joseph Otto, the Youth Chairman Clement Owhorndaa Otto, and elder statesman and former Community head Chief Bekwele Vincent Otto JP, the achievement was a great task accomplished within a year, with an estimated cost of several millions of naira. They further described their founding father as a peaceful, influential and exceptional personality.
The community hall was dedicated in a special service led by Ven. Azubike Ugoha his associate priest of St. Mark's Anglican Church Elelenwo Deanery. In his homily and prayer, Ven. Ugoha tasked the people to continue in unity and fear of God.
The community chose the Christ pattern over the libation method of dedication and opening of an ancestral hall, reflecting their total embrace of the Almighty God.
The event brought joy to the community, with men, women, youths, and well-wishers of Otto community in attendance, adding colour to the celebration. The newly unveiled community hall will serve as a gathering place for the kindred, fostering unity and communal bonding.
