A distinguished Indian-born entrepreneur and long-time resident of Nigeria, Mr. Trivedi Manojkumar B, has hailed Rivers State as one of the most rapidly developing states in Nigeria, commending the state’s transformation over the past decade.

Speaking during an interview following his nomination for the 2025 DMOMA Awards in the category of ‘International Business Ambassador’, Mr. Trivedi praised the remarkable infrastructural growth and socio-economic stability achieved in Rivers State, particularly under the administration of former Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike.

“I must tell you the truth, no state in Nigeria has experienced the kind of rapid development that Rivers State witnessed in the last ten years,” he stated.

“The massive road constructions and over ten flyovers have decongested traffic and redefined urban mobility. I have not seen such achievements anywhere else in the country.”

Mr. Trivedi, who has lived in Nigeria for over four decades, described Port Harcourt as one of the safest and most business-friendly cities in Nigeria today.

“Even the police force has improved greatly. Officers are now more professional; they simply request your driver’s license at checkpoints without soliciting for money.
Rivers State has changed for the better. People are going about their businesses peacefully — it’s truly a safe and progressive city.”

As the head of Jazmyne Table Water, Mr. Trivedi attributed his success to teamwork, quality assurance, and divine guidance.

“It is my duty to make people happy. I’m only happy when others are happy. At Jazmyne, we never compromise on quality. We maintain hygiene, cleanliness, and listen to consumer feedback. We’ve been operating for two years and have been greatly blessed — it’s only God Almighty that makes success possible,” he emphasized.

Looking ahead, Mr. Trivedi revealed plans for Jazmyne’s expansion into beverage production, signaling a new phase of industrial growth within Port Harcourt.

“Very soon, Jazmyne will not only produce table water but also beverages in Rivers State. We haven’t arrived yet, but we are committed to continuous improvement.”

Known for his humility and people-centered philosophy, Mr. Trivedi highlighted the importance of collective success and gratitude.

“Life is about ‘we’, not ‘me’. Everyone — from workers to security personnel — contributes to success. I don’t take personal credit; the credit belongs to my people,” he noted.

Reflecting on his journey, Mr. Trivedi shared that he arrived in Nigeria in 1982, completed his education in Ikeja, Lagos, and has since made Nigeria his home.

“I have lived here for 43 years. Nigerians are wonderful people. Once you are straightforward with them, they reciprocate with kindness. I don’t have enemies because I stay away from politics. Nigeria is a beautiful country filled with good-hearted people.”
He prayed that he celebrates his 60th anniversary in Nigeria.

Mr. Trivedi reiterated his philosophy of love, peace, and shared happiness as the foundation for progress.
“Where love exists, happiness and peace follow — and through that, growth comes naturally. What the world truly needs is happiness.”

The DMOMA Awards Board of Trustees, led by Dr. Ezebunwo Nyeche, formally presented the ‘International Business Ambassador’ nomination letter to Mr. Trivedi in recognition of his impactful contribution to global business partnerships in Nigeria.

Prince Dr. Billi Gillis Harry: A Visionary Union Leader (PETROAN)Championing Balance and Inclusion in Nigeria’s Oil Sector

In a period when Nigeria’s downstream petroleum industry is navigating one of its most transformative eras, one voice has continued to stand out for its clarity, patriotism, and balance — that of Prince Dr. Billi Gillis Harry, the National President of the Petroleum Products Retail Outlets Owners Association of Nigeria (PETROAN).

“We want Dangote Refinery to operate effectively and maximally. It is a very big thing that in my country I have a refinery like that. My greatest desire is to see it thrive and become very successful,” he stated.

However, the PETROAN President was quick to caution against over-centralization in the oil value chain, warning that consolidating too much responsibility and power in a single corporate entity could be counterproductive.

He called for collaboration among all stakeholders — depot owners, transporters (both marine and land), retail outlet owners, suppliers, and marketers — to ensure the system remains efficient and sustainable.

“We don’t want the burden of refining and distribution to be on one group. That would be too much for one company and not in our collective best interest,” he explained.

Prince Harry also revealed that PETROAN played a central role in prompting the recent federal government intervention in refinery operations and supply logistics (Dangote/NUPENG Strike) — a move that restored stability to the sector.
According to him, this action was a direct result of PETROAN’s advocacy and commitment to maintaining peace and balance in the industry.

Beyond policy advocacy, Dr. Harry’s leadership philosophy stands out for its inclusiveness, humility, and teamwork. Drawing from his heritage as a member of the renowned Harry family, known for their legacy of leadership and service, he described his style as one rooted in “unity, consultation, and participation.”

The Distinguished Merit & Outstanding Modern Achievers (DMOMA) Awards, organized by DMOMA Awards BOT in partnership with Online Media Practitioners, is one of West Africa’s leading recognitions of leadership and excellence.

Dmoma Awards: Rivers State University Is Going To Have A Combined Convocation This Year - Prof. Isaac Zeb Obipi.

The Vice Chancellor, Rivers State University, Port Harcourt, Prof. (Chief) Isaac Zeb-Obipi has revealed that the school is going to have a combined convocation this 2025 to curb unnecessary delay in the students' graduation in the school.

This he said when the DMOMA Awards BOT paid him a courtesy visit in the school as he marks his 100 days in office.

Prof. Zeb-Obipi stated that the University has instituted a 7-day cycle for obtaining transcripts to ensure the speedy processing of academic transcripts in the university.

Initiated the procurement of computers for all staff in the school in line with his vision for a smart administration that would require leveraging the use of technology for teaching and learning.

He confirmed the creation of the ‘Sponsors link’ in the school - an online that enables parents, guardians, and organizations to access the academic records/status of their wards and students.

‘Sequential Actor Results Presentation’ (SARP) that ensures that results are managed in a timely and orderly manner which allows students to access their results while on holidays.
This will enable the school graduate students at the end of the session eliminating delays associated with late submission and approval of results.
