NURSE KAY'S DAIRY – Sleep Matters 😴

Mr. Emeka (pseudo name), a hardworking father, once told me he barely sleeps 4 hours a night. His blood pressure kept going up.
I told him, “Your body is not a machine, sir. Even machines need rest.”
When he finally started sleeping 7 hours, his energy and BP improved.

Good sleep is medicine your doctor can’t prescribe in a pill.

NURSE KAY’S DAIRY – Water is Life 💧

Last week, a young lady came into the unit (Family Medicine Clinic) with constant headaches and dizziness. She feared it was something serious. After running some checks, I gently asked, “How much water do you drink daily?” She whispered, “Maybe one small bottle…”
Has... small bottle??😲
We laughed together, and I encouraged her to drink at least 6–8 glasses daily. A few days later, she sent me a message: “Nurse Kay, my headaches are gone!”😃

Sometimes, healing begins with the simplest habits.

Nurse Kay’s Diary – Little Steps, Big Change

Today, I remembered Mr. Tunde, a 42-year-old banker who once came to the clinic. He complained of constant back pain, tiredness, and headaches.

After checking him, I asked, “How long do you sit at work each day?” He laughed and said, “From 8 to 5, Nurse… I barely move except to grab lunch.”

I encouraged him to start small: take the stairs, stretch every hour, and walk for 20 minutes after work. At first, he struggled, but a few weeks later he came back smiling.

“Nurse Kay, I feel lighter, my stress has reduced, and I don’t need painkillers anymore,” he said with joy.

His story reminded me—exercise doesn’t always mean the gym. Sometimes, it’s just the little steps that save our health.
