My daughter’s surgèry story:
I gave birth to my baby Elena at 4kg. At 2 months, she gained 5.9kg, but all of a sudden, her weight went down from that to 2.9kg. I became confused and worried, so I started asking questions. One lady living in our street told me it might be "Nta," so someone recommended a woman who could treat that "Nta." We started the treatment journey, but instead of the "Nta" going away, my baby continued slimming down.
One day, while bathing my baby, I noticed something swollen on her lower part. I could only see it whenever she cried or tried to poo. I called my husband and my guidance and told them what was happening. It was them who opened my eyes to rushing our daughter to a pediatric hospital immediately. I first went to a private pediatric hospital at GRA, but their doctor was not available, so I entered a cab and rushed to BMH. That was where she was diagnosed with a hernia, and her type of hernia had come out in the wrong place, which was why she felt pain. It was said that her food didn't digest, which was why she was slimming down. 😭 My daughter was going through all those pains, and I didn't know.
The doctor asked me to book a date for her surgery. At that time, she was just 4 months old. My husband wasn't around; I was living alone with my baby then. If I were to do the surgery, who would help me out with the hospital stress, etc.? I cried myself to sickness during that period, remembering I was home alone. Thank God I didn't kpai out of depression 😭😭 I started pressuring my husband to come home, even though he still had unfinished business. My husband became restless, but he had no option but to come back the night before her dedication day (my daughter did her dedication under the hernia pain, as it made her cry too much). If I had known this was the cause, we wouldn't have even done the dedication ceremony.
Moving forward, we visited the hospital again, this time UPTH. The doctor we met told us to come back when she clocked 1 year because there was something they wanted to correct before she could go through the surgery process.
After my daughter's birthday, we zoomed off to the hospital, and their protocol started. From our house to there was far, but we kept going and coming back. Frankly speaking, before we got to the stage of getting a date, they had already stressed the hell out of us, and I was in the early stages of my pregnancy then.
Glory be to God; in March, they finally gave us a date, which was the 28th of April, but we had to come on the 27th of April. The remaining story is what you are seeing in the video.
Moral lesson: Please, if you have a newborn or even a toddler, stop taking them to a chemist whenever they complain of something or you notice any change. Take them to a pediatric hospital. 🙏🙏 God did it for us!!!"
See my stargirl growing with beauty 😂
