MY FIRST EXPERIENCE IN COURT (CUSTOMARY COURT OF APPEAL)
Today I will privileged to grace a court session, it was actually my first time in a court room so I found a lot of things so strange and interesting.
At first, we were all seated watching how and where the judge(s) will come out from while still surprise because the court workers were busy bringing in a lot of files and documents, behold a police man came in after few minutes, told us that the judges were about to come in, he went to a particular door, heated his hands in the door, up to 3 times before finally opening the door, and when the judges were walking in, we heard a voice “court!!!!!!!!!!”. After few minutes, the court session started.
I learnt a lot of things from the court proceedings, and trust me, I was jotting down my questions. One thing I liked about the court room was the level of the decorum, and respect for the law, each time a person is going out he bows to the court and steps out, and while the lead judge is passing out judgments no one goes out, this shows respect for the law, and if you disobey this rules, hmmm, maybe they will have to correct you in the correctional center.
At the end of the court session, we had a one-on-one discussion with the judges who then answered our questions.
