RELIGIOUS LEADERS ADVOCATE UNITY AMONG RUMUEME YOUTHS
Religious leaders in Rumueme Kingdom have urged Rumueme youths to unite and shun divisive tendencies in order to promote sustainable peace and development in the Kingdom.
The Supervisory Minister of St. John’s Anglican Church, Rumueme Deanery, Rev. Canon Stephen Enuani, made the call during a special thanksgiving service at the instance of the interim leadership of the Rumueme Kingdom Youth Council along with their guests.
He said as future leaders of the Kingdom, Rumueme youths must unite to engender progress, stressing that nothing meaningful can be attracted to the youth constituency in an atmosphere of rancor and disunity among them.
"Unity is strength. When we are divided, we achieve nothing but when we are united we can achieve so much".
"I urge you to uphold peace and unity in your various communities so that God's goodness can radiate among you." Rev. Canon Enuani stated.
The Supervisory Minister of the Deanery also prayed for divine guidance and direction for the interim leadership of the Rumueme Kingdom Youth Council to effectively steer the affairs of the youth leadership in the Kingdom.
Speaking on the sideline of the thanksgiving service, the President-General of the Rumueme Kingdom Youth Council, Comr. Chimzim Ihunwo, called on all Rumueme youths, irrespective of their differences, to rally around the interim leadership to succeed.
He said if they remain united as an indivisible apex youth body of the Kingdom, they can attract development, employment, and empowerment opportunities, and collectively build the Rumueme Kingdom of their dreams.
"This is not about individuals. This is about Rumueme Kingdom. I am calling on every Rumueme youth, whether you supported us or not, to come on board. Let us put our differences aside and work together in the interest of the progress of our kingdom".
"When we speak with one voice, government, stakeholders, and investors will listen to us. Together, we can attract skills programs, jobs, and projects that will transform our Kingdom." Comr. Ihunwo stated.
Also speaking, the Vice President-General of the Rumueme Kingdom Youth Council, Vivian Nwenekorum, said the thanksgiving service has reinforced the resolve of the new leadership to bring the desired change to youth leadership in Rumueme and the Kingdom at large.
She described the service as a spiritual foundation for the youth leadership, noting that with unity and divine guidance, the interim executives would deliver impactful programs for Rumueme youths.
For his part, the Secretary of the interim youth leadership, Comr. Richard Ndamzi, noted that the large turnout of guests at the thanksgiving service was a clear indication of the level of acceptance and goodwill the new youth leadership enjoys among the people of Rumueme.
He added that the overwhelming support from across communities has further charged the youth leadership to remain committed, transparent, and focused on delivering results.
The thanksgiving service by the Rumueme Kingdom Youth Council was well attended by youths from the various communities in Rumueme, members of the Rumueme Women Empowerment Forum, and leaders of the Youth Empowerment Forum.
