ollywood actress and filmmaker Uche Jombo has revealed that she had to learn the Ikwerre language for her role in Sweet 16, a movie shot in Rivers State.

Speaking at the movie premiere held in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Jombo opened up about the challenge of having to speak a language she was not familiar with. Despite the difficulty, she said she took on the challenge, learned the language and eventually succeeded in delivering the role.

Drama broke out along Ada George Road, Port Harcourt, after a Nigerian Army personnel clashed with police officers who allegedly stopped and asked him to identify himself.

According to an eyewitness, the soldier had accompanied his boss to purchase building materials and was returning after briefly stepping away when the officers stopped him. The situation reportedly escalated after the soldier accused the officers of handling the encounter inappropriately.

The officers allegedly attempted to take him to the station before his boss, who was reportedly dressed in civilian clothing, arrived at the scene.

The SUG President of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education (IAUE), Comrade Alex Onu, has denied reports of a cult clash on the university premises.

He said the only gunshot heard was fired by police into the air to disperse unknown persons who entered the school during SUG Week. He maintained that there was no exchange of gunfire or cult-related violence.

A lecturer also corroborated the account, saying police fired when the atmosphere became tense.

A man has raised concerns over the activities of some individuals claiming to be members of the sanitation task force at UPE Junction, Borikiri, Port Harcourt.

According to him, the individuals reportedly arrive early in the morning and allegedly arrest people who dump refuse into a refuse bin stationed at the junction, despite the refuse bin being provided by a company for public use.

He questioned why residents would be arrested for disposing of their waste inside a designated refuse bin and called for clarification on the sanitation rules being enforced in the area.
