Facebook thank you o for reminding me of this little masterpiece I designed back then in my primary school teaching days.

What you’re seeing here isn’t just colored paper on a wooden door, it’s a warm WELCOME hug to learners stepping into class for the very first time. The bright colors, the cheerful cartoon character, and the playful arrangement were all intentional because children respond to fun, love, and excitement.

The goal was simple: the moment they walk in, they shouldn’t just see a classroom door but a safe space where learning is fun. And believe me, their excited faces were worth every cut, glue, and sketch.

Children are pure joy, but let’s be honest, their wahala be like bicycle sha, you just keep pedaling with patience, creativity, and love until the journey becomes beautiful.

Teaching is beyond textbooks, it’s about designing experiences that learners will never forget.

Happy resumption

Teachers Transfer Window: A Time to Decide Wisely

Dear Teacher,
If you are no longer comfortable in your present school, this is the best time to make a decision. Do not start a new term with the same complaints you ended the last one with. Carrying the same frustrations into a fresh session will not only drain your productivity but will also affect the learners under your care.

Teaching requires peace of mind, fair remuneration, and a conducive environment. If you are not properly paid, or you are denied peace and respect, staying back will only make you bitter instead of better. Remember, your placenta is not buried in that school; you have the liberty to move to a place where your skills, passion, and dignity will be appreciated.

As an educator, your growth matters as much as that of your learners. Staying in an uncomfortable space robs both you and your students of the best you can offer. Choose wisely during this transfer window. Your future and your fulfillment in teaching depend on it.

Teachers Are Asking For Salary Review, Not Out of Greed, But Out of Need

As a new school session begins, many teachers silently carry the weight of financial struggle. Behind the smiles in classrooms are men and women who stay up late preparing lessons, marking scripts, and thinking of ways to bring out the best in every child. Yet, when it comes to their salaries, they are often overlooked.

Let’s be clearβ€”it is not greed. It is not lack of understanding. It is survival. Teachers, like everyone else, face rising costs of living, rent, transportation, family responsibilities, and personal development needs. They cannot pour from an empty cup.

When schools review salaries fairly, they are not just paying staff; they are investing in excellence. A well-motivated teacher gives more, commits more, and becomes an ambassador of the school’s vision. But a teacher constantly worried about survival cannot give their best.

As we start this new session, let us recognize the pain teachers feel and the sacrifices they make. A fair salary review is not charityβ€”it is respect, motivation, and a foundation for sustainable quality education.

Dear school leaders, listen to your teachers. Reward their service. Encourage their best. The success of your school depends on it.

Salary is 45k… monthly Contribution 25k? πŸ€”

Please pay attention to this, entering a monthly contribution of 25k when your salary is just 45k in this present economy is like building a house on water, it will sink before long.

You see this session, don't do it because others are doing it. Be financially strategic. Save what you can sustain. Don’t allow pressure to push you into a contribution plan that will scatter your budget and leave you stranded and you start looking for who will lend you 3k, 5k, 6k.

Note: Financial wisdom is not about how much you give away to savings groups, it’s about how well you balance your income with your real responsibilities.

The 5 Kinds of Teachers Running Down Your School

As someone who has worked closely with schools in Port Harcourt, I’ve come to realize that the strength of any school lies not just in its infrastructure or curriculum, but in the kind of teachers it retains. A school can have the best vision statement and glossy brochures, yet still struggle to grow because of the silent saboteurs within its staff rooms.

Here are five types of teachers that can quietly run down any school:

1. The Unmotivated Teacher
These are teachers who have lost passion for teaching. They stroll into class late, recycle the same notes year after year, and show no enthusiasm. Students quickly notice, and parents eventually do too.

2. The Negative Teacher
They are masters at spreading complaints. To them, nothing in the school works, management is bad, salaries are late, students are terrible. They poison the atmosphere, discouraging colleagues and even whispering negativity to parents.

3. The Unprofessional Teacher
These are teachers who blur boundaries: gossiping with parents, shouting unnecessarily in class, dressing inappropriately, or mishandling conflicts.

4. The Resistant-to-Change Teacher
Every new initiative is met with: β€œThat’s not how we do it.” They refuse training, ignore technology, and discourage innovation. In today’s competitive education space, this mindset cripples progress

5. The Money-First Teacher
Passion is secondary for them; they are only after salary. They see teaching as a temporary hustle until β€œsomething better comes.” Such teachers rarely give their best.

Bottom Line:
A school is only as strong as its teachers. School owners and administrators must audit their staff culture, invest in training, and be bold enough to let go of the wrong kinds of teachers as the new session begins. Otherwise, no matter how much is spent on marketing or infrastructure, the reputation of the school will keep sinking.

Education is nation-building, and our children deserve better.

The Pathway to Success: Focus and Avoid Unnecessary Distractions

At every stage of life, you will encounter challenges. The true test is not whether problems come, but how you respond to them.

Step One: Identify Your Problem
You cannot solve what you do not recognize. Be honest with yourself, pinpoint the exact issue standing in your way.

Step Two: Focus on Solutions
Energy wasted on arguments and unnecessary distractions is energy stolen from progress. Channel your time, strength, and creativity into finding practical answers.

Step Three: Stay Disciplined
Success requires consistency. Once you know the path, walk it daily with focus and determination.

Step Four: Avoid Unnecessary Issues
Not every battle is yours to fight. Learn to separate what builds you from what breaks you. Protect your peace and guard your vision.

Step Five: Keep Growing
Each problem solved is a step higher on your ladder of success. With every challenge, you gain wisdom, resilience, and clarity for the journey ahead.

Remember: Success is not found in endless arguments but in focused actions. Stay true to your vision, and your life will bear fruit.

If you put bananas and money in front of monkeys, the monkeys will choose bananas because monkeys don’t know that money can buy many bananas. In reality, many people are like that. They choose a job with a small salary instead of pursuing opportunities that can bring them much more.
