A personnel of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) identified as Blessing Akpan was stabbed to death by unknown assailants in Abuja.

It was learnt that Blessing was stabbed in front of her residence in Piawe, Bwari, in the early hours of last week Tuesday.

She was confirmed dead at Bwari General Hospital by the medical personnel on duty.

Blessing’s friends, who spoke to Daily Trust on Monday, July 28, said the deceased was rushed to different hospitals after the attack but she was allegedly denied immediate treatment because of the absence of a police report.

One of the friends, who did not want her name in print mentioned, said the NSCDC officer lost her life because she had lost so much blood before she was attended to at a Hospital where she was later confirmed dead.

“It is painful that we lost officer Blessing as she was fondly called due to a weaken and uncoordinated system,” she said, adding “someone was dying and you insisted there there must be a police report before she was attended to.

“Honestly, this is very sad to say the least. Besides, she’s also a security personnel. We showed them her office identity card, they still didn’t attend to her, hence the reason we were taking her from one place to another until she died.”

When asked how she was stabbed, another friend explained that “she was on her way somewhere and some persons wanted to rob her of her belongings. I guess they had to stab her to have their way.”

Nigerian banks have announced that individuals can now pay international tuition fees directly from their naira accounts through the Central Bank of Nigeria’s (CBN) Form A portal, a move made possible by recent improvements in foreign exchange (FX) liquidity.

The Form A platform, regulated by the CBN, enables Nigerians to access foreign exchange at official rates for eligible services such as tuition fees, medical bills, and professional training courses.

7 Countries Offering Work Visas with Pathways to Permanent Residency in 2025

In 2025, global mobility is more accessible than ever, especially for skilled professionals seeking not just employment abroad, but a long-term future. Several countries are rolling out work visa programs that lead directly to permanent residency, offering a compelling blend of career growth, cultural exposure, and lifestyle upgrades.

Whether you're in tech, healthcare, engineering, or other high-demand sectors, these countries offer clear and structured routes for professionals to work, settle, and thrive.

1. Canada

Canada remains a top destination for skilled immigrants, thanks to its Express Entry System, a points-based program evaluating candidates based on age, education, experience, and language skills.
Key options include:

Federal Skilled Worker Program (1+ year of recent skilled work)

Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs), which fast-track permanent residency based on regional labour needs.

Professionals in IT, healthcare, engineering, and education are in especially high demand. With strong social benefits and an inclusive culture, Canada continues to be a leading choice for relocation.

Woman Murdered in Ayobo Hotel: Suspect Confesses to Ritual Ki*lling

A man identified as Amos Daniel has been arrested for allegedly murd*ering a young woman suspected to be his girlfriend in a hotel located in the Ayobo area of Lagos State.

The incident reportedly occurred on Thursday evening, after Daniel and two other men checked into the hotel around 5:00 p.m. A female companion, later identified as the deceased, joined them later in the evening.

Eyewitnesses and hotel guests reported hearing strange noises and screams coming from the room around 10:00 p.m., prompting concerns among the guests. One guest, who identified himself simply as Adio, told journalists that the hotel's security team was alerted immediately.

“I checked into the hotel a day before the incident,” Adio said. “Later that evening, I heard strange, disturbing noises from the room next to mine. I stepped out and saw others also concerned. A security guard knocked on the door, but got no response. Eventually, they used a spare key to enter and that was when we found the woman lying in a pool of blood.”

Hotel staff, shocked by the discovery, raised an alarm and began a frantic search for the occupants of the room, two of whom had reportedly fled the scene. The third, Amos Daniel, was found hiding within the premises, attempting to escape through the hotel gate.

Upon his arrest, Daniel was reportedly beaten by hotel staff and guests, during which he confessed that he and his friends had conspired to ki"ll the woman for ritual purposes.

The victim was later identified as Endurance, a young woman originally from Akwa Ibom State.

Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident and provided additional details. He stated:

“The hotel manager reported the incident at Ayobo Police Station on Friday. The suspect had checked into the hotel around 5:00 p.m. with some friends. At about 8:00 p.m., while the manager was refueling the generator, he heard strange sounds and went to investigate. He found a female adult lying lifeless in a pool of her blood with multiple injuries believed to be inflicted with a sharp object.”

Hundeyin further revealed that the suspect dropped a da"gger while trying to flee. A preliminary investigation led to the recovery of several alarming exhibits from Daniel's possession and residence, including:

UTC axe

Cutlass and machete

Multiple jackknives

A pair of jungle boots

Local sponge (typically associated with ritual activities)

A laptop

A pair of large scissors

The victim had reportedly been sta"bbed multiple times, including in the stomach, head, and ribs. Her body was evacuated to Mainland General Hospital Mortuary in Yaba for preservation and autopsy. The case and evidence have been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Yaba, for in-depth investigation.

🚀 Something Strange Is Happening in Space And Voyager Caught It!

NASA’s Voyager 1 spacecraft, which was launched back in 1977, has just picked up something very strange out there in space and scientists are baffled! 😳

Voyager 1 has been travelling for almost 50 years and is now over 15 billion miles away from Earth, far beyond our solar system. It’s the farthest human-made object in space and it’s still sending signals back to Earth!

But here’s the shocker...

👽 Mysterious Moving Objects Detected

Recently, Voyager 1 picked up a weak signal that looked like ordinary space noise. But when scientists looked closer, they found something unusual, an object moving in a smooth and intelligent way, not like a rock or space debris.

Then it got crazier...

NASA found that it wasn’t just one object it was 305 objects moving together in a perfect pattern like they were part of a team or formation. Even stranger, they weren’t using engines or producing heat they were just moving fast and smart. 🤯

And guess what? Voyager 2, which is also far out in space, picked up the same signal confirming that it’s real!

🛸 Could It Be Aliens?

No one is calling it aliens yet, but the way these objects moved, and the strange signals they gave off, has scientists scratching their heads. Some say it looks like technology, not nature.

Even weirder, Voyager 1 started changing its own systems like it was reacting to the signal. It began turning on parts of itself that had been off for years. Almost like it was being updated or controlled from the outside. 😨

🔐 NASA Is Taking It Seriously

NASA has now locked down all signals from Voyager for extra security. They’ve even raised an alert level for "unknown space phenomena."

So is this the start of something big?
Was Voyager just lucky to catch a secret going on in deep space?
Or are we finally about to find out we're not alone? 👀

🔭 Stay tuned space just got a whole lot more mysterious.
