Romans 8:13 – "For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live."

Today, many people go through pain in the pursuit of physical beauty. Women pierce their ears, noses, tongues, navels, and other parts of their bodies just to look attractive. Now, even men have joined in these practices. People take injections and undergo surgeries — even on their private parts — to enlarge or modify their bodies in the name of beautifying the flesh. Yet this same flesh will one day rot and be consumed by maggots.

But the Bible speaks about inward beauty.

What effort have you made to beautify your inward man — your soul, which will live forever?

What pain have you endured through fasting, prayer, studying the Word, denying your lusts and desires, and fighting the flesh — all to please God and grow in your knowledge of Him?

May the Lord help us to overcome the flesh and pursue the inward beauty to our victory in Christ Jesus our Lord.Amen
