🐍 THE DAY A GIANT SNAKE SWALLOWED A BIG GOAT

A Crazy Story From a Tiv Village

In a quiet Tiv village called Mbaase Aondo in Benue State, there lived an old man named Aseer who owned a very big goat.

The goat was not an ordinary goat. It was the biggest and strongest goat anyone had ever seen in the village. Aseer loved the goat so much because it had been with him for many years.

One hot afternoon, Aseer tied the goat under a big tree behind his house and went inside to rest.

Suddenly, the children playing nearby heard a strange sound coming from the bush.

“Shhhhhhhhhhhhhh!”

They stopped playing.

Then the ground started shaking.

Before anyone could understand what was happening, a massive snake came out of the bush. It was so big that some villagers thought they were looking at a fallen tree moving by itself.

The snake slowly moved toward Aseer's goat.

The goat saw it and immediately started shouting.

“Meeeeeeeh! Meeeeeeeh!”

The villagers began screaming.

“Run! Run! There is a giant snake!”

The snake suddenly opened its enormous mouth and grabbed the goat.

Everyone stood at a distance in shock as the snake began swallowing the huge goat.

Some villagers ran to call the elders, while others climbed onto rooftops and trees just to watch what was happening.

An old man shouted:

“Nobody should go close! That is not an ordinary snake!”

The snake continued swallowing until the goat disappeared completely.

The entire village became silent.

Then, something even crazier happened.

The snake lifted its enormous head, looked around at the villagers, and slowly disappeared into the bush.

Nobody spoke for several minutes.

Aseer looked at the empty rope where his goat had been tied and shouted:

“My goat! My biggest goat! What kind of snake is this?”

That evening, the whole village gathered under the big tree to discuss what had happened.

Some people said it was a giant python.

Others believed it was a mysterious spirit snake.

The village elders warned

PART 2 — THE NIGHT OF THE ARREST
“Open this door!” the vigilante leader shouted.
Tersoo stood silently inside Martha's room. His heart was beating fast.
Martha whispered, “What are we going to do?”
Before Tersoo could answer, the door was forced open.
The village vigilantes entered and found Tersoo inside the compound.
“Tersoo! What are you doing here at this time of the night?” Terkimbi demanded.
Tersoo could not give a convincing answer.
Martha began crying.
“Please, don't make a scene,” she begged.
But the matter had already become serious.
The vigilantes took Tersoo to the village square. Within minutes, several villagers gathered to see what had happened.
When Martha's husband, Aondo, returned from his journey and heard the news, he was devastated.
He confronted Tersoo.
“You came into my village as a stranger, and I welcomed you. How could you betray my trust?”
Tersoo lowered his head.
“I am sorry,” he said.
The village elders quickly arrived and stopped the angry crowd from taking matters into their own hands.
Chief Terna stood up and said:
“Everyone must remain calm. No one should beat or punish another person. If a crime has been committed, the proper authorities must handle it.”
The vigilantes handed Tersoo over to the police.

THE STRANGER WHO BROKE THE VILLAGE RULES
PART 1 — THE MYSTERIOUS VISITOR
In a peaceful African village called Mbaachaku, life was simple. The villagers knew one another, respected their elders, and valued the peace of every family.
One afternoon, a stranger named Tersoo arrived in the village carrying a small bag.
He went straight to the village square and greeted the elders.
“Good afternoon, my fathers. I am a traveler. I am looking for somewhere to stay for a few days,” he said.
The village elder, Chief Terna, looked at him carefully.
“You are welcome, my son. But remember, when you enter another man's village, you must respect its people and their families.”
Tersoo bowed his head.
“Thank you, Chief. I will.”
The stranger was given a small room to stay in.
For the first few days, everything seemed normal. He greeted people politely and helped some farmers in the village.
But something soon began to change.
There was a married woman named Martha, whose husband, Aondo, often travelled to the neighboring town for business.
Tersoo started visiting Martha's compound whenever her husband was away.
At first, the villagers thought nothing of it.
But one evening, an elderly woman saw Tersoo quietly entering Martha's compound.
She became suspicious.
“Why does this stranger keep visiting that house when the husband is not around?” she whispered.
She decided to tell one of the village vigilantes.
That night, the vigilante leader, Terkimbi, called his men together.
“Something is not right,” he said. “We must find out what is happening, but we must not take the law into our own hands.”
Meanwhile, inside Martha's compound, Tersoo had no idea that the vigilantes were watching.
Around midnight, footsteps could suddenly be heard outside the house.
“Who is inside?”
Martha froze.
Tersoo looked toward the door.
Then came another loud knock.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
“The vigilantes!” someone shouted from outside.
Tersoo's face changed immediately.
He knew his secret had been discovered.

THE WICKED STEPMOTHER

Once upon a time, there lived a woman named madam Tsegba who married a widower with a young daughter named Wandoo.

From the very beginning, madam Tsegba hated Wandoo because she reminded her of her husband’s late wife. She treated her badly, gave her the hardest chores, denied her food, and constantly insulted her.

Wandoo never fought back. She endured everything quietly and continued to pray for peace in the family.

One rainy evening, madam Tsegba sent Wandoo into the forest to fetch firewood, knowing it was getting dark. On her way back, Wandoo slipped and injured her leg. She cried for help, but no one came.

Days later, madam Tsegba herself became seriously ill. She needed someone to care for her, but everyone she had treated badly refused to help

Surprisingly, Wandoo was the only person who stayed by her bedside. She prepared her food, gave her water, and cared for her despite all the wickedness she had suffered.

madam Tsegba looked at Wandoo with tears in her eyes and said, “I don't understand how you can still be kind to me after everything I did to you.”

Wandoo replied, “Because your wickedness will not turn me into a wicked person.

madam Tsegba cried bitterly, realizing too late that the person she had tried to destroy was the same person who showed her mercy when she needed it most.

MORAL LESSON

Never use your power to destroy someone who has done nothing wrong. The pain you cause others may one day return to your own heart. Choose kindness, because you never know who may be the one to save you when you need help.

In a quiet village lived a beautiful and hardworking young woman named Dooshima. Every day, she woke before sunrise to fetch water, gather firewood, and care for her elderly mother. Though they had very little, Dooshima never allowed poverty to steal her smile.

One day, a successful young man named Terkimbi returned from the city to visit his village. Unlike others who admired his wealth, he admired Dooshima's kindness and humility.

As they spent time together, their friendship grew into love. Before returning to the city, Terkimbi held Dooshima's hands and said,

"No matter how long it takes, I will come back for you. Wait for me."

With tears in her eyes, Dooshima nodded.

But days became weeks... weeks became months... and months became a year. There was no phone call, no message, and no sign of Terkimbi.

The villagers laughed at her.

"He has forgotten you," they said.

Even her friends begged her to move on, but Dooshima replied,
