Anioma State Will Be Created With Asaba As Capital*— Senate President Akpabio Reveals

Senate President Godswill Akpabio has reaffirmed strong legislative and political backing for the creation of Anioma State, signalling fresh momentum for the long-standing proposal.

Speaking at the APC South-South zonal congress in Asaba, Akpabio said the administration of Bola Tinubu remains committed to the initiative.

He disclosed a proposed structure: Asaba would serve as the capital of Anioma State, while Warri would become the capital of a restructured Delta State.

According to him, Warri already boasts critical infrastructure, including an airport, seaport, government institutions, oil company presence, and a stadium.

Akpabio described the agitation for Anioma as historically justified, citing equity, administrative efficiency, and balanced development as key drivers. He noted that the proposal, championed by Ned Nwoko, is among the priorities of the 10th Senate and promises socio-economic and administrative benefits.

“Anioma State will be created, with Asaba as its capital. The Senate fully supports the initiative,” Akpabio said, adding that the move would usher in development and shared prosperity.

He explained that splitting Delta State into two viable entities would enhance decentralisation and governance.

Back in November 2025, Nwoko revealed the bid had gained major traction, with constitutional amendment committees involved and 97 senators reportedly endorsing the move—an unprecedented level of support.

Tracy Nicolas Ohiri ran a small printing and branding business in Lagos. About 12 years ago during David Umahi's campaign to become governor of Ebonyi State she supplied posters banners T-shirts and other promotional materials. The agreed amount was around ₦25 million. Umahi's team collected everything but the payment never came.

She waited months then years. She sent messages and made calls but got excuses or no response. The debt grew with interest she calculated it reached over ₦250 million sometimes saying ₦304 million. Her father fell ill and she needed the money for his treatment but he passed away without it.

Later she said Umahi made personal advances toward her. One time in Ebonyi he came to her hotel room wearing only a towel and asked her to date him in exchange for easier payment. She refused. After that she claimed he told her "God is busy" when she asked for the money again.

Frustrated Tracy went public last year. She posted videos online demanding payment and threatened to protest. Soon after police arrested her in Lagos on charges of cyberbullying and defamation. They flew her to Abuja and detained her at the FCT Police Command.

Activist Omoyele Sowore showed up at the station confronted Umahi there and called it an abuse of power turning a debt issue into a criminal case. The next day February 26 2026 she appeared in a Magistrate Court in Wuse Abuja. The judge granted her bail of ₦1 million despite police pushing to remand her in prison.

In court Tracy looked straight ahead and said clearly: "I can never be broken. You must pay me my money. I will press your neck."

Umahi denied the allegations through his aides. He said he never harassed her or ordered her arrest the police acted on a petition from his lawyer. He called the claims false.

The case is still ongoing but Tracy keeps speaking out. For her it's no longer just about the money it's about getting what she's owed after all these years.

*Peter Obi narrowly escaped an assassination attempt by armed thugs in Benin City, Edo State.*

According to reports, Obi the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, and other African Democratic Congress (ADC) leaders, including former APC National Chairman John Odigie‑Oyegun, were attacked during a political engagement at the residence of Chief John Odigie‑Oyegun.

The incident occurred when gunmen opened fire on the convoy of opposition politicians .

The attack happened during the formal declaration and defection of Barrister Olumide Akpata into the ADC. Obi confirmed the incident in a video circulating on social media, stating that he and other party leaders came under attack .

Details of the incident indicate that there were bullet casings scattered on the ground, damaged vehicles with shattered windows, and property destruction at the ADC office and residence.

The National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement, Yunusa Tanko, raised concerns over the attack, describing it as evidence of the deteriorating state of democracy in Nigeria.

Lady rescued after man she met online allegedly lures her to bush in Delta, transfers all her money and ties her to a tree

A lady has reportedly been rescued by local vigilantes in Delta State after a frightening encounter with a man she met online.

According to reports, the man invited her out and instead of taking her to a public place, allegedly took her to a bush with his friend.

She was reportedly tied to a tree.

The lady also claimed that the men transferred all the money from her bank account during the ordeal.

She was later rescued by members of a local vigilante group.

A Russian man is under fire after he exposed how easy amd cheap some African women in Kenya and Ghana were.
He secretly recorded his encounter with over 100 women in these two countries, showing how he lured, deceived, and seduced these women into his bedroom and possibly have his way with them for as little as 0 to 20 dollars.
