After the wăr has been declared no victor and no vanquished by Nigerian government, many Igbo men were shot by Nigeria soldiers. They were suspected to have fought on the side of Biafra. They were summarily executed and dumped on the roadside.

It is for these people we are sitting at home. They paid the ultimate prize for us to live.

Keep resting and keep supporting our quest for freedom.

My name is Mazi Chika Edoziem, I come from Iheọma from Orlu province of Biafraland, I serve the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB ) in the capacity of Head of Directorate, I greet you from my location, the Biafran people from East to West, North to South. A very important day in the lives of Biafrans. I pray may this day bring us blessings and peace individually as we remember those who sacrificed their lives that we may be alive today. When we gather all over the world, we gather to reaffirm that we shall never be massacred again.

I do understand the difference of timezones on our planet. That some of you are yet to commence the commemoration of our heroes and some of you are already in the process of honoring this holy day. However, wherever you are, it is our solemn duty to honor those who stood in defense of our people, those who went hungry that their kids may eat. This valued sacrifices is not limited to the heroes of 1967-70, but to the gallant men and women who have denied themselves of every comfort to defend our land and people from those conspiring to take away our heritage. I want to tell you Biafrans that no one who killed our fathers, mothers, brothers and sisters, relatives, no one who denied us basic amenities, no one who blocked us land, sea and air will ever love us. We need to bear this in mind so we don't be deceived by the narratives of the zoo who want us to forget our past. They simply want us to remain slaves. And today I say by the spirits of our ancestors we will never become that slaves in our land. I am telling you today that what is about to happen to the zoo will be too much that is why we are calling upon the spirits of our ancestors to rise up. The war that is coming, will it definitely come, we are aware and we are going to be prepared. This is what many of you Biafrans, must be acquainted with to remain vigilant and brave for the days ahead will be decisive.
