When the Whole System Fears One Man
There comes a moment in every nation’s history when the true fault lines of its political decay are exposed not by policy debates or ideological differences, but by the coordinated hostility of the ruling class against a single figure. In Nigeria today, we are witnessing such a moment.
When you see the entire political establishment aligning itself in opposition to one man, it is not just a matter of politics. It is a revelation. It is a signal that this man carries something they cannot control, something they desperately fear. That man is Mr. Peter Obi.
From Governor Sanwo-Olu’s calculated disdain, to Governor Charles Soludo’s unprovoked potshots, from Senator Godswill Akpabio’s veiled jabs, to Bayo Onanuga’s incessant vitriol, the pattern is unmistakable. It is not merely disagreement. It is coordinated aggression.
The ruling elite within both APC and PDP are united in one thing: panic. Even those who masquerade as revolutionaries, like Omoyele Sowore, cannot resist the impulse to tear him down. Why? Because Peter Obi stands outside their carefully constructed circle of decay. He is not one of them. He does not speak their language of entitlement, nor does he dine at their banquet of corruption.
This is not an attack against a politician. This is an attack against hope itself.
They fear him because he reminds Nigerians that something better is possible. They fear him because he has reawakened political consciousness among millions who had given up on the country. They fear him because he does not belong to their club of compromise and moral bankruptcy.
Let us be clear. Thieves do not unite against their own. They unite only when there is a threat to their racket. They are not afraid of each other. They are afraid of you. They are afraid of what might happen if you realize the power of your own vote. And Peter Obi is the embodiment of that awakening.
Dear Nigerians, open your eyes. Every time they speak against him with such venom, know that it is not because he has failed. It is because he has not joined them.
Peter Obi remains the clearest symbol of the Nigeria we desire. He is not perfect, but he is a disruption to their decades-long grip on our destiny. And that is why they tremble.
They know it.
We must not forget it.
He is still our only hope.
