Gov Fubara: ‘I am not quarreling with RSHA’ over 2026 budget

The Rivers State Government has dismissed reports suggesting a rift between the executive and the Rivers State House of Assembly over the 2026 Appropriation Bill.

In a statement, the government said Governor Siminalayi Fubara is not at loggerheads with members of the Assembly. Instead, he is working closely with the lawmakers to serve the people of Rivers State.

The 2026 budget proposal has already been presented to the House and is currently undergoing the normal legislative process. Officials expressed confidence that the bill will be passed once the process is completed.

The government noted that Rivers State has experienced difficult periods in the past and is not prepared to be drawn into fresh controversies. It called on those promoting negative narratives to stop, stressing the need for peace and harmony to ensure the steady development of the state.
