Oxford scholar. Detective novelist. The woman who created Lord Peter Wimsey.

But she had a second mission.

During WWII she wrote _The Man Born to Be King_ for BBC Radio. She put Jesus in everyday language. No stained-glass words. No church routine. Just raw drama.

Listeners were SHOOK. Because for the first time, the Gospels sounded like what they actually were: the most gripping story anyone had ever heard.

She was asked: "Why is a mystery writer doing theology?"
Her answer: "Because I'm not doing two things.
The incarnation is the most dramatic event in history. And we made it boring."

Her goal? Give people back the shock of it.
