One of the ways you would know if you are improving musically or not is the way you would presently play a song your scored a year or some years back. You are not expected to play or sing it the same way, being a musician or a singer. Your level of scoring could be determined by some factors. Which are;
1. Listening skill. I.e musical ear
2. Experience
3. Strength/ dexterity/flexibility
4. Music intelligence
5. Being spontaneous I.e ability to remember.
6. Creativity etc
Keep working, keep making research, keep practicing the right thing. Don't relent. No procastination. Get GOD along and Believe in Yourself.
