Re: Report fact Checks: Fubara's wife was allegedly abducted**
A complete fallacy!
On March 26, 2024, a number of social media outlets, particularly Facebook, reported that Lady Valerie Fubara, wife of Sir Siminalayi Fubara, Governor of Rivers State was abducted following a gun battle among security operatives.
Curiously, the purveyors of the story claimed that the purported abduction took place on February 26, 2024.
We wish to inform the public that the alleged abduction of the wife of the Rivers State Governor is false. It is a fictitious concoction by the authors with the intent of grabbing attention and creating traction for their platform.
The claim that there was a gunfight among security operatives never happened; neither was the Rivers State First Lady caught in a fictitious crossfire and subsequently abducted.
Lady Valerie Fubara is hale and hearty and going about her duties.
That the purported abduction cannot be true is buttressed by the fact that on March 16, 2024 the Rivers State First Lady was performing burial rites for her mother at Opobo town in the full glare of sympathizers.
The public is requested to ignore the fake news of the purported abduction of the wife of the Rivers State Governor as it is one more infantile attempt to create chaos and distract the Governor from focusing on governance with social and economic justice.
