Covid-19 Eneka Community Sensitisation Campaign To Churches,Markets And The Streets.
Comrade Michael Mbata who led the team for the sensitisation program said many Nigerians especially those at the grassroots have yet to understand the deadly nature of the disease and its implication for the masses.
He argued that it would be tragic if the disease was not well managed to allow it to ravage the populace and the economy of State.
We are doing this in respect of the directive given by the State Government under the leadership of Chief Barr. Nyesom Ezenwo Wike CON GSSRS for all Churches to observe social distance in place of worship.
Mr Michael appealed to the Local Government Chairman to enlighten our people on the need to ensure regular hand washing to discourage the spread of the disease.
“I want all tiers of Government to speed up action to ensure that this virus does not spread in our State”, he added.
“Government should intensify effort at our airports to ensure that no single case escapes their surveillance mechanisms”.
“We, however, commend Rivers State Government for their initiatives in handling the only confirmed case of the virus in the State”.
"Rivers State has tried so far to quarantine the patient but they should not relent. We will continue to support the state government".
The Chairman of Eneka Clan Hon Bestman Worlu also appealed to Government to continue to upgrade facilities at the various health centers to be able to run the test for it people.
He similarly, commended the Rivers State Government for their effort in the State, appealing for additional measures to tackle the disease.
Loveday Opurum, who spoke on behalf of Eneka Youths appealed to corporate bodies to join hands with government to combat the disease.
