As we mark ๐ช๐ผ๐ฟ๐น๐ฑ ๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐น๐๐ต ๐๐ฎ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ฎ๐ฒ, the conversation goes beyond access to hospitals; it is about whether those facilities can function at all.
In many last-mile coastal communities, the absence of reliable power limits essential services, from vaccine storage to emergency care, leaving the most vulnerable at risk.
In 2023, the Foundation for Partnership Initiatives in the Niger Delta - PIND, in collaboration with the U.S. Government-led Power Africa ๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐น๐๐ต ๐๐น๐ฒ๐ฐ๐๐ฟ๐ถ๐ณ๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐ง๐ฒ๐น๐ฒ๐ฐ๐ผ๐บ๐บ๐๐ป๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป๐ ๐๐น๐น๐ถ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฐ๐ฒ (๐๐๐ง๐), supported access to renewable energy for healthcare facilities across the region. Through this initiative, PIND drove solar electrification effortsโbringing power closer to communities and improving access to care.
