This year’s theme, “𝗔𝗹𝗹 𝗛𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗸 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻,” reminds us that Nigeria’s future is shaped not only in Abuja or Lagos but also in the creeks, towns, and cities of the Niger Delta. Every hand, every voice, every community matters.

As we celebrate this milestone, we honor the resilience of Nigerians everywhere who show that unity is the path to transformation.

Through the 𝗘𝗨-𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗱 project “𝗔 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆-𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝘁𝗼 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗩𝗶𝗼𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗗𝗲𝗹𝘁𝗮,” communities themselves are stepping into the role of peacebuilders.

In 𝗥𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀, 𝗕𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗹𝘀𝗮, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝗲𝗹𝘁𝗮 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀, ordinary people are being trained as peace monitors. Young people are sitting across the table from security agencies, not as adversaries but as partners. And in town halls and village squares, arts and culture are being used to stitch communities back together.

What once felt like mistrust is becoming trust. What once sparked conflict is now opening dialogue. And what was once silence is giving way to collective action.

In Bayelsa, a women-led initiative is rewriting that story. The 𝗚𝗶𝗿𝗹𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵 𝗜𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 stepped in to ensure corps members aren’t left hanging with unanswered questions, but are instead equipped with the skills and confidence to thrive in a digital future.

Through the 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗼 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗟𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗔𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗬𝗦𝗖 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺, over 70 participants discovered that technology is not just a tool but as a bridge to opportunity, resilience, and possibility.

For Imonieroh Edesiri, one training session with the Foundation for Partnership Initiatives in the Niger Delta - PIND in 2023 was all it took to ignite a new vision:

✨ Convert skills into self-confidence.
✨ Build that confidence into a sense of hope.

From that vision, the 𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗨𝗽𝗰𝘆𝗰𝗹𝗲 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 was born in Warri, Delta State, where children from underserved communities now turn bottles, tires, and fabric into furniture, art, and a future they can believe in.

This is more than recycling — it’s redefining what's possible for a generation that refuses to be held back.

For too long, women and children in the Niger Delta have been pushed to the margins, bearing responsibilities without being given the chance to shape the future.

👑 𝗢𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗶 𝗔𝘁𝘂𝘄𝗮𝘁𝘀𝗲 𝗜𝗜𝗜 reminds us what real leadership looks like:
