Your business might be struggling to grow past its current level because so many things are demanding the attention and limited resources that it has!

📌 It’s time to take stock of what exists in your business. The product lines, the offers, etc.

What’s working and what’s not? What are customers buying with little to no resistance?

And which offers are so difficult to sell and get moving?

Look at the product sales and financial reports and match each offer to the revenue and profit it has brought in over the past 6-12 months.

📌 After conducting an audit, it’s time to make the difficult decision:

CUT. IT. DOWN.

Cut out unprofitable offers. Cut out the offers that feel like pulling teeth to sell, the ones that customers have extreme hesitation over buying.

Focus on the offers that:

A] Have moved good volumes because customers are buying easily and repeatedly.

B] Have good profit margins, and with good systems behind them, they’ll sell more.

Channel your resources towards these offers.

Build proper funnels. Direct the attention of your marketing team towards strategising and executing campaigns that would multiply the results that these offers are already delivering.

Cut the dead weight and focus on fuelling what’s already working.

That is how you make it easier for your business to experience clear, lasting growth. 🤭

Some of you need to divorce some products in your businesses. Don’t be an Ibinabo! 😏

Okay, I’m done. If this was helpful to you, share it so more business owners can take the lesson too.

P.S. My eldest sister’s name is Ibinabo. Put me in your prayers.

Not every idea needs it’s own box. Not every arm of your business needs a different set of systems and channels!

As a recovering overcompartmentaliser (there’s that mouthful again 🤭), I’m here to tell you that it can be a huge WASTE of resources.

You’ll spread your team, marketing budget, production facilities, etc. too thin.

You don’t need a separate plate for every single food item. Rice and chicken can be served together! 🙃

You don’t need separate travelling bags for different items of clothing. Your tops, bottoms and coats can be folded together in one!

Get it? Don’t spread your resources out too thin.

Launching random campaigns and hoping for a ‘viral moment' that would 'change the game’ and magically achieve the annual targets that were set for the marketing department.

That is the spray and pray tactic in motion. 🙃

And it has multiple negative consequences:

1} The marketing budget gets wasted. The results achieved don’t match the amount spent; the ROI is horrible.

2} The marketeam feels incompetent and is even less motivated to try and do better. They don’t know what they’re getting wrong; they just know that what they’re doing isn’t working.

3} Business growth stalls. Sales remain stagnant or, even worse, start dropping month after month.

Fewer new customers are being converted, and old customers aren’t being retained well enough because there’s simply no strategy in place for that.

If you’ve gotten your business to this point where you are actively investing in marketing and you have a team that you’ve hired…

📌 Then you should 100% be getting solid ROI in return.

The good news is that you don’t necessarily have to go into 'annihilation mode' and fire your entire marketing department.

They just need to be redirected. They need to be shown how to prioritise strategy and what it means to think and act strategically.

They need to understand and witness how to take the scary goals, targets and KPIs and translate them into funnels and campaigns that would make the achievement of all (or at least most) of those goals possible.

Let’s have a low-pressure conversation about where your business is right now concerning marketing and the performance of your team.

Send me a DM and let’s talk.

Point 1: Marketing has a direct impact on the growth of your business.

The better your business is at marketing, the better results (visibility, leads, sales, market share, lifetime value, etc.) your business will get.

Point 2: The cumulative capacity of your marketing team determines how GOOD & EFFECTIVE your marketing activities are.

Point 3: Capacity refers to the skillset, ex*****on drive, strategic thinking and resources that the marketing team has/is provided with.

📌 Your MarkeTEAM cannot deliver results beyond its capacity.

Point 4: If you want to improve your marketing results, invest in improving those 4 core areas.

📌 Skills. Ex*****on drive. Strategy. Resources.

Those are the 4 levers you need to consistently pull on and the areas you must invest in, always.

You don’t need more amazing ideas, or strategies or a sign from above with a never-been-done-before marketing tactic.

You just need to do the normal, boring things consistently! 🙃

The person who’s consistently doing the 'normal' stuff, has higher chances of achieving success than,

The person who shows up once in a while with an amazing idea/concept/strategy and then disappears.

If you’re not in a heavily creative field, like music, art, movies, writing, etc.

Then you have better chances of winning by just learning the basics and doing them consistently. 🤷🏾‍♀

You don’t need to completely revamp your product suite and create something the market hasn’t seen before every new year.

You just need to consistently market what already exists in the language your target market would understand and resonate with.

📌 Too many people underestimate how important it is to do the boring, basic work CONSISTENTLY.

And this is why you cannot be resistant to spending on marketing.

📌 You cannot hold on so tightly to the business funds that you refuse to invest in growth.

Can a business grow without ANY investment in marketing at all? Yes.

But do you want to bank on being a part of the TINY percentage of businesses that successfully achieve that?

Do you want to leave the growth of your business to chance?

Or will you take calculated risks and deploy funds into marketing activities and campaigns that would bring good ROI?

Revenue. Profit. Customer base expansion. Lifetime value increase.

⬆️ These are things you can track that your marketing activities would have a direct impact on.

How much growth do you want to witness in your business? And what are you willing to invest to get said growth?

There's a specific technique I use that ALWAYS works, and I stumbled on it by chance. 🤭

It was this technique that got me my first foreign client in 2022, when I was a social media manager.

It's a technique that immediately shows how good you are at your craft and draws the right people to you, making them reach out to work with you.

It's a technique that you can rinse and repeat as often as you want, and it works across industries!

Okay Piriye, WHAT IS THE TECHNIQUE? 😤

Hehe, I broke it down in detail in a 30-minute podcast clip for the Client Acquisition Challenge, hosted by @‌dr.sapphire_ of @‌sapphirelearninghub!

The CAC is FREE, and you’ll get access to not just my client acquisition strategy, but many more from other experts who have figured out different ways to land high-paying clients.

You’d be surprised at how much new information you’d get if you asked customers for feedback multiple times, over a period of time. 🙃

There are things they would only be able to spot and talk about when they’ve used your products/services for a while.

If you don’t ask, you won’t find out:

A} The problem areas and how what they purchased isn’t meeting expectations over time. ❌

For example: The leather on the bag peels after some time, the clasp on the bracelet gets weak, they find it hard to implement what they learned even after going through the course, etc.

B} Competitive advantages that you would never have noticed because you’re so close to the product/service (as the creator/founder)...

And you’re not using it the exact way and with the open-mindedness that your ideal customers would. ✅

For example: Use cases that you never thought of can be revealed to you by customers who have found interesting ways your product comes in handy.

This can then be communicated in your messaging to drive better results.

📌 Asking for feedback multiple times from customers, will equip you with data that you can use to improve your business in many ways!

P.S. Don’t just ask directly, conduct social listening frequently to learn what customers (and other stakeholders) are saying about your products and business without being prompted!

Not to plagiarise Imagine Dragons, but there's nothing left to say.

Okay fine, there’s one more thing I have to say.

Disclaimer: This obviously does not apply to you if you suffer from executive dysfunction or any condition where your brain/system is actively working against you.

Okay bye! 🤭

How do I get clients as a freelancer? Wait, scratch that. How do I get HIGH-PAYING clients as a freelancer? 😫

I searched for answers to this question in the first few years of my career as a marketing service pro, and I've been asked this same question numerous times by fellow freelancers.

When @‌dr.sapphire_ of @‌sapphirelearninghub reached out to me and explained the concept of the Client Acquisition Challenge to me, it was an IMMEDIATE YES! 🤭

Why? Because I know how it feels to have clients one month and then none the next.

I have intimate experience with being worried over when the next income will come in because there’s no current client, and there are crickets in your DM.

I also know what it’s like to take on a client who you know isn’t the right fit, just because your account balance is running low and you have bills to pay. You can’t afford to be picky, literally. 🥲

I’ve been freelancing for over 6 years, and I’ve found systems that work for me to get great clients. Systems that work with my personality, values and the kind of business I’m building.

I shared one of said systems (my favourite one) in The Client Acquisition Challenge! 🤭

It’s FREE, and you’ll get access to not just my client acquisition strategy, but many more from other experts who have figured out different ways to land high-paying clients.
