DO THESE BEFORE RELEASING THAT SONG

1. Put it on streaming platforms. I still wonder why in this digital age someone would release a song without putting it on digital stores. Some of the best ones are
Distrokid, Amuse, Tunecore etc. Do well to check them out.

2. Create at least 7 days awareness.
This will prepare the minds of your of your fans. Post daily in preparation of the release. Don't just post the song on release day.

3. Keep funds for marketing on release day
Prepare
a. OAPs
b. bloggers,
c. influencers to talk about it
d. friends and family to be prepared to share and stream on the release date.

4. keep funds for short TikTok tok and IG videos.

5. Prepare a posting routine. Plan for 30 days consistent posts after the release.

6. Budget funds for social media marketing, playlists, etc.

7. Plan for tours and Offline gigs.

Why Do MOST Kingdom Singers Struggle? (African kingdom Singers)

1. STRATEGY

Most Kingdom Musicians don't Have a plans for their career. They just feel it's time to release a song and that's it.
they don't ask questions like
a. What is right time to release this song?
b. What is the target audience?
c. What is the marketing plan?
d. How do I get it across to my fans?
e. what are the ways to generate income from this track? etc

2. THE GOD FACTOR.

They Believe it's a song that glorifies God therefore God will do a miracle and the song will 'BLOW'

If you don't put a seed in the ground there will be no crop for you to harvest. If you don't push your song with the right tools and people nothing will happen

3. THEY WALK ALONE

In this industry nobody survives alone!
You MUST have people working with you eg
a. Manager
b. Band
c. Social media handler
d. stylist etc.

4. FUNDING

Most Kingdom Singers can't afford or are not willing to invest in things that will make a song go wild. Things like
a. Good Production
b. Good Videos
c. Good team
d. Good manager
e. Good phones for content
etc

5. STEREOTYPE

I've been an MD for over a decade and a Music Producer. Kingdom Singers have limited lyrical content in their songs. They all sound alike. You will often find phrases, lines and tunes "STOLEN" from other people's songs. especially the popular ones.

If a 6 year old can't sing your song or recognize the tune easily just know that you'll struggle with marketing that song.

Aside serious marketing, for your song to be known nationally it MUST have these features.

1. Catchy tune and phrases.

A national song must have a sticky melody. One should be able to Humm it and just enjoy the melody without singing it. The melody has to be sweet.

2. Short repetitive chorus.

Your chorus has to stick. One should be able to listen to it over and over without getting bored. It should be easily remembered.

3. Song should not be full of words. Make it a sing along song.

4. Always compare the production to popular TRENDING songs.
