As a graphics designer, I've encountered my fair share of unusual requests. But one that still stands out in my mind was when a client asked me to design a fake foreign ID for internet fraud.

At first, I was taken aback by the request. But what really caught my attention was the ridiculously low offer – 1,000 Naira. That's when I thought to myself:

'We don't usually do that, but even if we want to, should it be for 1k? Sir/Ma, we are in 2025. As graphics designers, our biggest motivation is in the amount we are being paid for a design. There is actually nothing you can't design, it is just the amount of money that you are being offered that makes you feel you can't handle a job.'

Needless to say, I turned down the offer. It was a no-brainer. The amount was an insult, and I couldn't compromise my skills and time for such a paltry sum.

Looking back, I'm glad I made that decision. It reinforced my values as a designer and reminded me that my worth goes beyond any lowball offer."
