A Girl, Her God and Her Mental Health is my debut book, which explores my
personal journey as a firstborn Nigerian-Igbo daughter, navigating societal
expectations while addressing the often stigmatized topic of mental health in our
communities. The book delves into the intersection of faith and mental health,
challenging the misconception that both cannot coexist. Through this book, I aim to promote open conversations around mental wellness, offering a message of hope and healing.

Born and raised in Nigeria, I am also a mental health advocate and the founder of the Unveil Mental Health Awareness Foundation. This book is a continuation of my advocacy, challenging both the church and society to reconsider their approach to mental health.

In A Girl, Her God and Her Mental Health, I share my experiences and insights, aiming to break the silence that often surrounds mental health in cultures
where stigma and misconceptions prevail.

As I write in the book: “The truth is, mental illnesses are as real as it gets, and I‘m not just talking about the
emotional parts; I mean the ones that affect the wiring of the brain, the intrusive thoughts that creep in uninvited. I’m talking about the kind of mental illness that no amount of makeup, excellence, or perfection can hide; that kind where people genuinely need help from professionals because it has the power to alter the trajectory of a life. Above all, I believe in God’s mercy; His unconditional love and grace support us through our struggles.”
