MOROCCO VS SOUTH AFRICA IN THE WAFCON QUARTER-FINALS

A place in the semi-finals is on the line, and so is a direct ticket to the 2027 FIFA Womenโ€™s World Cup.

The winner of this massive clash will secure a spot among the last four teams of WAFCON 2026 and automatically qualify for the World Cup.

Who do you think will win this tie and book their place in the semi-finals?

Over the years, I have observed a simple truth: nations are not only shaped by policy and power. They are shaped by conviction.

I once encountered a young Catholic priest in my city whose statement has remained with me.

"My needs are few, if any. I have little or no need for the money I receive."

There was no rhetoric. No posture. Only the quiet weight of a life ordered around sufficiency.

"Be content with such things as you have."Hebrews 13:5.

In an economy driven by appetite and optics, that scripture feels almost radical. Yet it may be the most necessary witness the Church can offer today: that leadership begins with mastery over want.

We have just seen that same spirit again , but this time in the public square.

A Catholic priest looked the President of the Federal Republic in the eye and spoke truth without equivocation, without fear, and without personal agenda.
You may agree with every word, or you may not. But we should all recognize the virtue on display: moral courage.

It is increasingly rare. And it is increasingly needed.

George Duffieldโ€™s 1858 hymn _โ€œStand Up For Jesusโ€ returned to me in that moment:

โ€œLet courage rise with danger,
And strength to strength oppose.
Where duty calls, or danger,
Be never wanting there.โ€

To Cardinal John Onaiyekan, and to every member of the clergy who chooses principle over popularity: thank you.

You remind us of something foundational.
The Church of Jesus Christ is not a federation of brands. It is *one Body, one witness, one mandate to model integrity, to speak truth, and to show up where duty requires.

That is not just faith.
That is leadership in its highest form.
That is faith made visible in public life.

It might interest you to know that , Africa Independent Television (ait) isn't the first private broadcaster in Nigeria.

For years, many assumed that because Chief Raymond Dokpesi of blessed memory founded the first private radio station in Nigeria, he must have also pioneered the first private television.
That assumption however isnโ€™t accurate.

In fact, AIT was the third private television station in Nigeria. What made it remarkable was not being first, but being the first to achieve true national spread.

The true pioneer was Degue Broadcasting Network : DBN Television.

Incorporated in 1986 by Edo State-born Mr. Osa Sonny Adun, DBN began life not as a TV station, but as a sports marketing outfit on Awolowo Road, Ikoyi, Lagos.
Their business was simple and bold: acquire broadcast rights to major international sporting events and partner with NTA to air them.
From the FIFA World Cup to the Olympics and the Commonwealth Games, DBN brought the worldโ€™s biggest moments into Nigerian homes.

Their defining moment came in 1996 during the Atlanta Olympics, the year the Super Eagles won Olympic gold and Chioma Ajunwa became the first Nigerian athlete to win an individual Olympic gold medal. DBN held the broadcast rights. The nation watched history through their lens.

A year before the federal government officially deregulated broadcasting in 1996, DBN made its leap.
In 1994, it launched full television transmission on UHF Channel 35, later moving its studios to the 21st floor of Eko Court, Victoria Island.

DBN wasnโ€™t just sports. It rolled out a slate of recorded and live programs. But the one that captured Lagos nights was "Night Shift" a show many still remember, though the exact airtime now blurs with memory.

DBN became a training ground for talent. Several presenters who cut their teeth there would go on to become household names after being recruited by AIT.
Names like Segun Adebowale, Israel Edjeren, Ebere Acharike-Young, Don Pedro Obaseki, Namure Edomoiya, and Ms. Abdulaziz now with NTA Network, all have DBN in their story.

But the media landscape shifted fast.
With the arrival of AIT and its national reach, DBN like a small boat in a storm could not withstand the wave. It eventually went off air.

The second private station to try was Clapperboard TV, also on UHF. It too had a brief run.

Today, history must record it correctly: Mr. Osa Sonny Adun is the man who truly pioneered private television broadcasting in Nigeria.

Take your flowers, sir.

๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ฌ All the super falcons lovers who traveled to Morocco to cover and support the girls , are labeled content creator's, while someone who types on top of her bed is labelled a professional analyst, if you love these girls that much , why not come out from hiding, meet the coach one on one and talk to him same way you've been r@nting on Facebook?
most of these promoters you call content creators know far more than you do, but they remain professional.

writing long notes doesn't make you an analyst.

After almost two years of legal battle, the Federal High Court in Lagos has finally ruled in favour of gospel singer Sinach, affirming her as the sole author and copyright owner of her global hit song, Way Maker.

The lawsuit was filed by music producer Michael Oluwole (popularly known as Maye), who claimed that he was a co-author and co-owner of the song because he recorded, mixed, mastered the track and created some instrumental accompaniments. He asked the court to declare him a co-owner, order that royalties and licensing income be shared with him, and award him โ‚ฆ5 billion in damages.

However, Justice Lewis Allagoa held that the producer failed to prove that he made any original creative contribution that would make him a joint author of the song. The court found that Sinach had already written, composed and even performed โ€œWay Makerโ€ before Maye was engaged to mix and master the recording for its commercial release in 2015.

It also accepted evidence that he was paid for those studio services under an oral agreement. The court explained that under Nigerian copyright law, authorship belongs to the person who creates the original expressive elements of a musical work, such as the lyrics, melody, harmony or arrangement.

A producer, sound engineer or session musician does not automatically become a co-author simply because they record, mix, master or provide technical support, unless they can prove they contributed original expressive content to the work. The judge described the suit as โ€œgold digging and unmeritoriousโ€ before dismissing it in its entirety.

Finally the case has ended, congrats to Sinach.
