As an Omega who had suffered intimidation and ridicule by my fellow pack's members, it becomes a normal routine for me to get picked on everyday by the same people that were supposed to be my pack members.
I wanted to be his Luna to shield myself against the angry puppet jeering at me at every slightest opportunity.
But it was an entanglement to be roped into something undesirable, to conceal a secret of which my existence was an obstacle to his own progress whereby if not checked I would be consumed over family feud.
Like a kind of presumptuous thinking. I queried my thoughts in sober reflection forcing myself a flashback. Then it clicked. He only wanted to conceal a buried memory of whispered stories, a hidden truth buried within the pack's past. A secret if revealed could change everything in it's entirety. My breathing hitching, I staggered back.
It wasn't for love or any sort of feelings or emotions but something attached to a price that has to be paid.
My mum had called me one morning.
“You're an Omega stay away from meddling with Malon he is dangerous and can terminate your life in a snap” she said holding her two ears as if that way the word would sink in deeply into my gullible mind.
“But why mum”? I asked with unwavering determination to embrace the consequences that would linger around my decision afterwards.
My mum, looking surprised and worried with a deep sense of disappointment written all over her face, “He is truly not the right alpha of this Emerald”.
“He's an Alpha by deceit” she said with an intense contempt spatting on the ground.
“Deceit?” “How mum” I asked with amazing surprise, my palms widely opened as though the answer would fall into them.
“Alpha Ramzy who was chased out with his mother by Malon's kinsmen when he was small is the legitimate Alpha of this pack”. she revealed.
As though her presence wasn't felt, like a bird whose wings have been removed, I stood in her front looking speechless and confused soliloquizing.
“I love Malon and he is the only one in this pack that matches my wolf and more also he had promised me that I will become his Luna”. I had said with a wave of excitement written all over me in rejuvenation.
By the time I had regained my strength and consciousness, Ramzy was already back to the cubicle where he left me. His eyes locked into mine as though he was searching for something, his face seemly fainted-hearted as he bent his head as though he was about to read my instinct.
The smell of burnt hair and thick blood hovering in the air suffocated me. It's coercion was as if I was choking to stupor. I tried to cover my noise with my palm from inhaling the spoiled air. Lost in contemplation as to what might have brought me to this strange place, I pondered on the beast's prophetic words.
I could vividly see everything in the room. It was the dawn of a new day but the quietness of the environment was so bizarre looking deserted like a ghost town
“You looked worked up and perplexed perhaps worried about your being here” he questioned growling towards my position closing the gap between us.
My weak bones began to panick with severe suffocation emanating from his broad shoulders as if he was going to pounce on me in a snap.
My perspiration doubled, my pants completely soaked as though it had been drenched under the rain.The heat of his presence, a pressure, suppressing the thick air I had managed to inhale as though he was about to swallow me whole.
My chests vibrating, my mind a total blank out, I struggled with the words but they were not forthcoming but rather a handful of sentences which appeared to be more of a request I could only sum up.
“I humbly wish you could spare me the opportunity to find my way back to Emerald. I muttered my body fidgeting as the words forcefully left my mouth.
“Young wolf you are safe here, you were almost dead in an unknown place but I chose to bring you here, you have nothing to worry”. He smirked, gazing at me with what seems to be a mirage of intense pity and concerns.
My heart hitched, his words an immersion of engrossed coercion rather than the reassurance and the much needed hope it had carried.
“Safe”? I enquired, staring at him with fear and suspicion. “How can an Omega be safe under you and why did you save me in the first place?” I had asked. But then, I began to think through, pondering on them, trying to reminisce as though he had earned himself some benefit of doubt as to why I should wash away whatever dark perception I had against him.
“Who are you?” I asked in a trembling tone filled with fear and perplexed confusion wrapped with stark expectations as though the response would put an end to the quest for the safety I so much desired.
“I am Ramzy Miako!” He declared in a clear but husky voice.
“Ramzy Miako of… Em….?” “Ragwood” he cut in, taking the word out of my mouth. I stammered, my bones vibrated, like an excavator engine, my palms whose knuckles looked pale and white rested on my tender succulent breasts as though they harbor the secrets beneath them, trying to suppress the overwhelming agitation written over my expression.
Like someone bitten at the buttocks by an insect, I stood up abruptly from my seat as though I was about to confirm what I had just heard.
“Miako?” I ask inquisitively, my mouth wide open, desperation staring at me as though he was going to throw in the confirmation of the word as I searched for it expectantly, gazing intently at his amber eyes that seem to be tasty for revenge rather than my own craving.
Plot twist
His eyes darkened and for the first time since I woke up from this unfamiliar place , I realized something terrifying about him.
“An Omega does not address a beta with their last name in Ragwood”! He snarled. “You will be drowned to your own curiosity”. He thundered, waving his hands in the air.
At that moment I knew I was in between the devil and the deep blue Sea.
A clarion sound, sharp and clear cut through the air uncannily like a rushing wind, signals the guards which seem to be lurking around the premises, disrupting the quietness that was once in control causing an unbearable intensity.
With a stiff face, cold and dry littered with unprecedented hostility, his eyes gazed around me with fury.
Then he smirked with empty amusement. Its expression lies a deep-seated bitterness. “We don't have time, bring her to the pack ground for execution”. He roared, tightening his jaws.
