MEDIA CHAT: WIKE TO ADDRESS RIVERS PEOPLE DIRECTLY
• Moves chat from Abuja to Port Harcourt

Followers of the monthly media chat which features the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Nyesom Wike and a panel of journalists drawn from select media organizations do not need to join major TV networks

For the first time, the media chat which appears to be targeted at the Rivers people would be broadcast live by radio stations and other life streaming platforms that are based in the State.

Among radio stations expected to transmit the chat live from their studios are Super FM, Nigeria Info, Today's FM and Silverbird FM.

The internet is also expected to buzz as life streaming media organs like Ogoni TV take images of the Minister of the FCT who has reportedly transformed Abuja to internet buffs.

Radio is believed to have the power of enormous pe*******on and observers say Wike is seeking to reach out to much more people at the grassroots.

Rotimi Amaechi, a two-time Speaker and two-time Governor of Rivers State, Governor Siminalayi Fubara has extended his heart - felt condolences to members of the deceased family and the Ubima community

Fubara said in Port Harcourt through his spokesman Onwuka Nzeshi that the Rivers people, the Catholic Church, the Ubima community and the Amaechi family have suffered irreparable losses as a result of the demise of Dame Ezinne Mary Oduah Amaechi.

Governor Fubara acknowledged that the loss of a person's mother is a deeply painful experience, and urged the family to take solace in the good life Mama lived as well as the legacies she left behind.

A legal practitioner and law lecturer, Maxwell Okpara, PhD, has urged an immediate investigation on the conduct of Justice Peter Odo Lifu of the Federal High Court, Abuja

Okpara said on the Wednesday edition of the Morning Show broadcast on Arise Television that the brazen disregard for an order of an appellate court by the judge of a lower court was both distasteful and alarming.

While he lauded the Court of Appeal for unanimously ordering a stay of ex*****on of Justice Lifu's ruling on the deregistration of four political parties, the law teacher said the Federal High Court judge should be prevented from sitting as a presiding officer until the National Judicial Council, NJC, takes a decision on his alleged misconduct.

He called on civil society groups, lawyers and other critical stakeholders to pile pressure on the NJC to immediately order an investigation.
