ABUA/ODUAL LOCAL GOVERNMENT COUNCIL

MONTHLY REPORT FOR AUGUST 2026

In August, we took a step further towards achieving our desired objectives and goals for the month. From receiving stakeholders and dialoguing for the interest of the LGA to flagging off projects and commissioning of the newly acquired security vehicles, we are steps ahead in solving some of the basic challenges affecting our people.

We are unrelenting in our service to our.

1. The Executive Chairman of Abua/Odual Local Government Area, Engr. Owolobi Michael Ofori received the New Divisional Police Officer, Inspector Larrycarr Augustus on a courtesy visit in his office at the Council Secretariat, Ayama, Abua Central.

2. Hon. Ofori also received the oil and gas (Local Content) committee established by the Ada-Abuan-in-Council to discuss strengthening collaborations with multinationals in the LGA.

3. The Council had its monthly environmental sanitation to enhance serenity and wellbeing of the people.

4. Engr. Ofori received the forum of Community Development Committee (CDCs) chairmen in Abua/Odual to discuss critical community base issues.

5. Abua/Odual Local Government Council under the leadership of Hon. Engr. Owolobi Michael Ofori commenced the renovation of State Primary School Ekunuga, Arughunya Clan, Odual.

6. Ongoing Renovation of State Primary School, Omokwa Community, Abua Central by the Uru-Odighi administration led by Engr. Owolobi Michael Ofori.

7. Renovation work commences at the Adibom Central State School, Emelego, Odual.

8. Engr. Ofori performed the laying of block to mark the commencement of work at the Okolomade JTF base as part of the constituency development project of the Member Representing Abua/Odual in the Rivers State House of Assembly.

9. The Executive Chairman of Abua/Odual LGA, Engr. Owolobi Michael Ofori led the people and stakeholders of Abua/Odual to the official commissioning ceremony of the Agba/Ndele-Abua link road and bridge by the Governor of Rivers State.

The Executive Chairman of Abua/Odual Local Government Area, Hon. Engr. Owolobi Michael Ofori, and his lovely wife Dr. Mrs Stella Michael Ofori attended the burial ceremony of the late Deaconess Stella Fyneface Muzan Ekpelu, mother of Hon. Raphael Muzan Ekpelu, a former Chairman of Abua/Odual LGA.

The late Deaconess Stella Fyneface Muzan Ekpelu passed away at the age of 94 and was laid to rest at Owerewere Community in Emughan-Abua.

The Chairman joined family members, friends, leaders and well-wishers in paying his final respects and honouring the memory of the deceased.

The Executive Chairman of Abua/Odual Local Government Area, Hon. Engr. Owolobi Michael Ofori, led constituents from Abua/Odual to the engagement programme organised by the Honourable Member representing the Abua/Odual–Ahoada East Federal Constituency, Rep. Solomon Bob, in Ahoada Town.

The engagement provided an opportunity for the lawmaker to interact directly with constituents, listen to their concerns, and strengthen the relationship between the people and their representative. The programme also featured empowerment initiatives aimed at supporting constituents and improving their livelihoods.

As we celebrate the youth day, August 12, 2026, with the theme - “Different Contexts, Common Aspirations” It is my hope that our common aspiration for a greater Abua/Odual will be achieved with profound unity and utmost sincerity of purpose.

Our goal is to see that despite our Different Contexts, every young person in our dear LGA, have the courage to dream, the opportunity to grow and the confidence to create a better tomorrow.

ABUA/ODUAL MONTHLY REPORT

~ JULY IN FOCUS

In July, The Uru-Odighi administration, widens the trajectory, from quality service delivery to sustained educational support, infrastructure, youth development to security.

Under Engr. Owolobi Michael Ofori, the Uru-Odighi administration continues to provide excellent administration, governance and quality service delivery that has never been witnessed before. The following topped the schedule:

1. During a courtesy visit by the Orashi Youth Forum, the Chairman pledged to foster stronger youth partnerships, collaboration, and inclusiveness.”

2. The Uru-Odighi administration convened a community based, high-level security engagement with community leaders in the various communities in Abua, with plans to extend the initiative to all other communities across the local government area in the coming days.

3. The Chairman received reports from the bursary verification committee and directed the immediate commencement of payments to enhance students’ academic life and comfort.

4. ⁠Engr. Ofori received the management of Ingentia Energies Limited at his office in the Council Secretariat, where he advocated for youth inclusiveness and scholarship opportunities for the people of Abolga.

5. The Chairman, represented by the Chief of Staff, Hon. Barr. K. Noah, attended the inauguration of the PML 66 Host Communities Development Trust by Ingentia Energies Limited.

6. ⁠The Abua/Odual Ultra-Modern Park continues to record significant progress.

7. The Chairman received a delegation from the Emilaghan community, where he assured them of his continued support and collaboration.

8. ⁠Urgent electricity intervention by the council in Omelema community to enhance power supply to its residents.
