*LUNCH HOUR WITH ABBA FATHER*
*THURSDAY JULY 27*
*WORK WHILE IT IS DAY*
*John 9:1-5*
_Now as Jesus passed by, He saw a man who was blind from birth. 2 And His disciples asked Him, saying, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?” 3 Jesus answered, “Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him. 4 I must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work. 5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world._
Jesus must have been very busy during the three and a half years He engaged in active ministry. He knew His time on earth was short, so there was no waste of time and opportunity. This is the critical message in today’s passage.
When Jesus talked about the night coming when no man can work, He was talking about a time when He would leave the earth for eternity.
By this, He was telling His disciples that they too have limited time to do all that God would have them do in this life. If you have limited time, it means you must take advantage of every opportunity to do what you have to do.
We have several things we do that are valid and necessary for our continued existence and well-being in this life. In the midst of all these however, we must find time to serve God in whatever capacity He allows. In fact, the wise make God’s work priority and everything else falls in place. If you make God first, He makes your desire also first on His plan. What will happen if you are waiting for the most convenient time to serve God and it does not come, and one day you realize you have nothing to show to God for your life on earth?
*PRAYER*
1. Thank God for the opportunity He brings your way to serve Him.
2. Pray that you will not miss any of them but will be available to serve Him always.
3. Father, please help me busy myself with kingdom business every day of my life.
*DECLARATIONS*
I declare that my times and life are in God’s hands. As a custodian of time and every resource I have received from God, I use every one of them to serve God and the people of God. I declare that I will intentionally create opportunities to serve God with every breath that He has given me in the name of Jesus.
