* #. SOS :. ASALGA LP STAKEHOLDERS CALL FOR NATIONAL WORKING COMMITTEE(NWC) AND NATIONAL TRANSECTION COMMITTEE (NTC)* urgent intervention in Asari-Toru Local Government Area Labour Party primary.
To the National Working Committee of the Labour Party Nigeria, we, the concerned members and stakeholders of the Labour Party in Asari-Toru Local Government Area, earnestly appeal for your immediate intervention in the ongoing irregularities, illegalities, and aberrations within our local party structure. These actions, perpetrated and promoted by the Rivers State Chairman of the Labour Party, Hilda Dokubo, have severely undermined the integrity and democratic processes of our party in this region.

On the 3rd of August, a notice was issued to all ward chairmen and stakeholders within Asari-Toru Local Government Area, instructing us to conduct primary elections for the upcoming October 5th general elections, as directed by the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC). In accordance with this directive, seven delegates were nominated from each ward to participate in the election of the LGA chairmanship candidate.
The primary election was conducted transparently at the Labour Party Secretariat in Buguma, with delegates from the 13 wards casting their votes in an open secret ballot. At the end of the election, Mr Charles Inko-Tariah, received 64 votes, while the other contend John Benson, received 22 votes.Mr Charles Inko Tariah with 64 vote was officially declared the winner by the LGA Chairman, Mr. Mac-Jay.
