Breaking News 🚨🚨🚨

China has introduced a new divorce laws which says properties will no longer be shared 50/50

You only take what you bought or what you contributed for .

Now couples have to keep receipts of what they bought just in case of separation .

A man is no longer going to lose millions to you just because you married him and want a divorce .

You will take just what you brought or owned .

Moral lesson : With this new law ? Divorce rate will decrease by the end of the year 😆.

STATEHOUSE PRESS RELEASE

PRESIDENT TINUBU MOURNS THE PASSING OF EX-SUPER EAGLES KEEPER PETER RUFAI

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu expresses great sadness at the passing of legendary Super Eagles goalkeeper Peter Rufai, who was 61.

The President condoles with the Rufai family, friends, and football enthusiasts on the demise of the inimitable goalkeeper fondly called 'Dodomayana' by his numerous fans and football lovers all over Nigeria.

President Tinubu notes that Peter Rufai would be remembered as one of those patriotic sportsmen who wrote their names in gold in the sporting annals of Nigeria and the African continent.

"I recall with fond memories the heroic contributions of Peter Rufai in the historic victory of the Super Eagles at the 1994 edition of the Africa Cup of Nations in Tunisia as the first-choice goalkeeper, followed up with Nigeria's equally epoch-making, first appearance at the FIFA World Cup competition, dubbed USA '94.

" Rufai was also a strong member of the team at the subsequent edition of the competition in France in 1998.

"Having started his career with Stationery Stores of Lagos in 1980, Rufai was one of the earliest footballers in Nigeria to go professional, playing in many European countries including Belgium, Spain, Portugal and the Netherlands, bringing honour to the nation and opening a new window of opportunities for young footballers in Nigeria," President Tinubu says.

"After he retired from active football, Peter, a Prince of the Royal House in Idimu, Lagos, set up the Staruf Football Academy, where he continued to inspire, mentor and nurture young footballers".

President Tinubu prays for comfort for all who mourn Rufai's loss and for the repose of Rufai's soul.

BREAKING...

RIVERS POLITICAL LEADERS RECONCILE AS GOV. FUBARA, FCT MINISTER, CHIEF WIKE, OTHERS MEET WITH PRESIDENT TINUBU

The coast is getting clearer for the restoration of democratic order in Rivers State as the political leaders involved in the lingering impasse in the State are gradually reconciling their differences with a two-day meeting that held between Wednesday and Thursday .

This is also evident with Gov. Siminalayi Fubara and Minister of the FCT, Chief Nyesom Wike alongside members of the Rivers State House of Assembly, some members of the Rivers State caucus of the National Assembly and elders of the State visiting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in A*o Rock late Thursday night to report the extent of their reconciliation.

With this move and further smoothening of relationship amongst the gladiators, there is a possibility that the impasse is coming to an end to enable President Tinubu lift the emergency rule imposed on Rivers State for an unfettered governance and return to the democratic path.

The GistReports will provide more details as events unfold.

“RUTH KADIRI IS DATING CHIDI DIKE?” — SHE BREAKS HER SILENCE!

“When I discovered Chidi D**e, he was still so young—he knew nothing about acting or filming,” Ruth Kadiri said with emotion. “I told myself I would train him, polish his gift, and turn him—and others like him—into some of the finest male actors in Africa.”

But instead of praise, what she got was betrayal.
Ruth revealed that after giving Chidi multiple lead roles and helping shape his rising career, ugly rumors began to spread—accusing her of sleeping with him for roles.

And the most heartbreaking part?
Some of these rumors came from her own team members… the same people who didn’t earn the roles, but wanted them anyway.

“Even when you’re doing the right thing, people will still talk,” she said.
“But let them talk. Do good anyway.”

Moral Lesson: You’ll be judged whether you shine or stay silent. Choose to shine.

Abalama Reception: A Sinister Ploy to Incriminate Us, Says Amanyanabo of Torusarama Piri

•••Condemns Assault on Unarmed Women Protesters by Security Agents

•••Criticizes Supreme Court for Overstepping Its Jurisdiction

The Amanyanabo of Torusarama Piri, Da Amakiri Tubo, Alhaji Mujahid Dokubo Asari, Dabaye Amakiri I, has revealed that the organizers of the Abalama reception for the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, had a hidden agenda—to provoke a crisis and frame him as the mastermind in a bid to tarnish his reputation.

Speaking to journalists on Saturday at his Obuama residence, the Amanyanabo stated that credible intelligence exposed the plot, in response to which he addressed the world in a live broadcast and withdrew his Royal Fouche Security Services Ltd personnel from the Emohua/Kalabari Road to prevent any escalation.

"We heard rumors that some Kalabari people working with the FCT Minister were planning a reception for him. But beneath this so-called reception was a scheme to entangle us; the Royal Fouche Security Services, in a premeditated crisis, where they had intended to attack themselves and falsely accuse us of instigating the violence.

"I went live and alerted the world about this sinister plot orchestrated by Wike’s supporters," he stated.

Dabaye Amakiri questioned why the event organizers blatantly ignored the traditional ruler of Abalama, who had earlier advised against hosting the reception due to security concerns, emphasizing that this disregard signaled ulterior motives behind the gathering.

The Amanyanabo strongly condemned the use of teargas and physical assault by security agents on unarmed women, which included his younger sister and serving member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Boma Goodhead.

"These women merely expressed their displeasure over Wike’s reckless statement belittling the entire Ijaw Nation, yet they were met with violence. Such actions are unacceptable.

The traditional ruler described Wike’s comments about the Ijaw people as reckless, provocative, and deeply unfortunate. He warned that Rivers Ijaws, who occupy nine out of the 23 local government areas (LGAs), had taken note of Wike’s derogatory remarks and would respond at the appropriate time.

"Anyone who underestimates the fury of the Ijaw people is a fool. Whether Wike was under the influence of hard drugs or alcohol, it is said that ‘out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks.’

"I do not wish to dwell on these matters, but let me be clear—if Wike continues down this path, what he is looking for, I pray it does not happen because if it does, let him gather all his forces Ijaw people are equal to the task, we will vanquish all of them put together."

The Amanyanabo also rebuked Ijaw politicians aligned with Wike, referring to them as “Amaderi-apu” (saboteurs), noting that; "A time of reckoning is coming for those who betray their own people for personal gain."

He traced Wike’s political rise to the benevolence of Ijaw figures such as Marshal Harry and Patience Jonathan, arguing that Wike had betrayed everyone who helped him attain power.

"Marshal Harry made him a local government chairman. Goodluck and Patience Jonathan made him governor. He once worshiped at their feet, but today, look at his actions. Politicians make the mistake of empowering those they think they can control. Now, he turns around to insult the Ijaw people. How?"

Dabaye Amakiri cautioned President Bola Tinubu to be wary of Wike’s treacherous nature, labeling him a serial betrayer of his benefactors.

"Wike once bowed and shook Tinubu’s hands with both hands. Now, he shakes him with just one. A betrayer remains a betrayer. The way he will betray Tinubu will be far worse than what he did to Goodluck Jonathan.

"Tinubu must watch his back. Many daggers are aimed at him. Let him not end up like Julius Caesar, crying ‘Et tu, Brute?’"

Commenting on the ongoing Rivers State political crisis, the Amanyanabo condemned the Supreme Court justices for what he termed judicial overreach, stressing that Rivers people would not accept a judgment that contradicts the Constitution.

"The Supreme Court has turned into Santa Claus, handing out rulings on cases it has no jurisdiction over, creating unnecessary crises in Rivers State."

He questioned the hasty implementation of the controversial Supreme Court judgment that removed local government chairmen from office, criticizing Governor Siminalayi Fubara for swiftly removing the local government chairmen, accusing him of acting too hastily.

"Yes, the Supreme Court is final, but what happens when it oversteps its jurisdiction? It has no authority over local government elections. That power ends at the High Court."

He also criticized the court for importing legal arguments that were not before it, particularly the defection of 27 House of Assembly members.

"The Supreme Court ruled on a matter it was never asked to decide on. The defection case is still ongoing at the court of first instance, yet the Supreme Court imposed its judgment. This contradicts legal precedents, including the Plateau case where defectors lost their seats.

"We have always been told that courts do not give judgments on matters not before them. But today, the Supreme Court has become Father Christmas, handing out rulings like gifts.

"The people of Rivers State must rise against this injustice. They must not remain silent in the face of tyranny."

He also ridiculed Wike’s threats, dismissing them as empty words.

"Wike says ‘when the law speaks, Asawana will run, Asawana will die.’ But did Asawana run? Did Asawana die? No! You do not push a people beyond their limits, because when they finally react, you will see the true consequences of your actions," he concluded.

OUR GOVT'LL EVENTUALLY TRIUMPH, GOV FUBARA ASSURES RIVERS PEOPLE

•Inaugurates Govt House Staff Quarters

Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has declared that despite the unceasing antagonism against his administration, the course of governance is irreversible, and victory is assured for the State.

The Governor, who noted how the news of the judgment of the Supreme Court dampened the spirit of most Rivers people, charged them to brace up because what is ahead is more than what just passed.

Governor Fubara gave the assurance while inaugurating the Rivers State Government House Staff Quarters, reconstructed by his administration, along Forces Avenue (opposite Government House), Old GRA, Port Harcourt on Monday.

He noted that as humans, they may have felt disturbed by the Apex Court's pronouncements, but advised them to realise that God, who has their back, will accomplish His purpose.

He said, "Our back is not on anybody; it is on God. I want to thank you for your support, and assure you that, if there is one person on this planet Earth that will continue to stand by you, I will be that person.

"I assure you that I will lead you with honour, I will lead you with respect, and I will lead you with integrity, knowing that when I leave here, I would have questions to answer, if I am called upon 20 - 30 years from today. I want to be proud to defend my position. So, I thank you and assure you that I will not disappoint you."

Governor Fubara, however, emphasised that no matter how much the adversaries have tried to fool the State, the time has fully come for Rivers people to take their destinies in their hands.

The Governor, who clarified that he has never subscribed to violence or asking people to indulge in lawless acts, warned that his administration will not look away when haters of the State struggle to unlease violence in the State.

He said, "No matter how we've been fooled in this State, it has gotten to a point when the people have to decide to take their destinies in their hands.

"Inasmuch as I don't subscribe to violence, when the time comes for us to take a decision, I will lead the course for that decision. Let me say it again: I am not scared of anything, the worse that will happen is for me to leave the office. Am I leaving the earth? Is it going to stop me from existing?

"So, I am not even bothered about that. But the right thing must be done, and must be said when the opportunity is given to us. Let me thank everyone, more especially our youths. Be strong, don't be perturbed. I assure you, at the right time, you will hear from us."

Governor Fubara pointed to why it has to be on record and known by everybody that the interest of Rivers State remains his top priority, quickly emphasising that he will not hesitate to pay the supreme price, if it is so required.

But, Governor Fubara noted that his strength is in the supreme God and all Rivers people who love the State, and are interested in its progress and peace, counselling them to know that there is honour and glory in fighting gallantly, being on the side of truth.

Governor Fubara pointed attention to the Holy Scripture, quoting Philippians 3 verse 18-19, which said: "For as I have often told you before, and now, I tell you again, even with tears, many live as enemies of the cross of Christ. Their destiny is destruction, and their god is in their stomach, and their glory is in their shame, their mind is set on earthly things only."

The Governor stated: "Just like the word said, we are not after our stomach, we are after the joy of our people, that at the end of the day, what will count for us is the lives that we have touched genuinely, the legacy we leave that will speak for us, that will open doors for our children, the generations yet unborn.

"Knowing that and having that in mind, it spurs us, it forces me, as a person, to stand on the side of right, to do good, to stand on the side of truth that even if anybody calls me tomorrow, I should be bold to defend my actions."

Commenting on the project, Governor Fubara expressed delight that his administration was foresighted to have conceived the project, executed it, and, by the special grace of God, is dedicating it to the glory of God for use by the workers.

Governor Fubara stated that what has been achieved: the staff quarters and other projects lined up for inauguration, as proof against what has been said in some quarters, that there is good governance on course in the State.

He said, "Here is a legitimate, purpose-driven governance in Rivers State, and we are here to display, genuinely, not because of our own selfish interest, one of those things that this government has done to show that we appreciate, understand the need, and must continue to do what is right for our people.

"When we came on board, this building was a dilapidated building, completely unhabitable. We felt we must add value, which is the basis of our governance, to what we met, and we decided that, look, our staff can't be living in uncomfortable place, they can't leave like animals while I leave in big comfortable place.

"How would I get efficiency from my workers if they are not happy, and the government decided to embark on this project. I am happy that the contractor delivered it within the time limit."

Governor Fubara thanked the elders of the State who have continued to provide support and stand with his administration, and assured them that he will not disappoint their expectation of providing good governance to the State.

In his address, Chief of Staff, Government House, Rt. Hon. Edison Ehie thanked the Governor for embarking on the reconstruction of the project, and for tastefully furnishing the facility to make living comfortable for workers.

Providing the project description, Permanent Secretary, Government House, Mr Chukwuma Ndudi Augustine, said the project was awarded on June 6, 2024 to Monier Construction Company (MCC), and today, staff of government will have a more comfortable accommodation that will impact positively on their productivity.

He stated: "The Government House Staff Quarters has 6 numbers of two bedroom, 11 numbers of one bedroom, 11 numbers of Boys Quarters. Hostel A has 32 bed spaces, Hostel B has 30 bed spaces. There is canteen, cafeteria, gymnasium - fitness centre where staff will be exercising themselves, mini basketball court, a soundproof power generating plant, water tank. The contract is completed, and contract sum fully paid."

15/01/2025

ADDRESS BY HIS EXCELLENCY SIR SIMINALAYI FUBARA, GSSRS, GOVERNOR OF RIVERS STATE, ON THE OCCASION OF THE 2025 ARMED FORCES REMEMBRANCE DAY CELEBRATION IN PORT HARCOURT ON WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 15, 2025

Protocols

With great honour and humility, I welcome you all to today's Armed Forces Remembrance Day Ceremony here in Rivers State.

1. Thank you for accepting our invitation and joining us to commemorate this solemn and significant day in our nation's history.

2. I extend my special gratitude to the serving members of our armed and paramilitary forces, the Nigerian Legion, and the families of our fallen heroes who grace this occasion. Your presence reminds us of our heroes' courage, sacrifice, and enduring legacy.

3. Today, we gather to reflect on and celebrate the bravery of our veterans, whose dedication has safeguarded our nation's territorial integrity and preserved its sovereignty.

4. As a nation, we have faced immense challenges over the years: from participating in the First and Second World Wars to engaging in international and regional peacekeeping missions. We have also endured the trials of civil war and continue to confront internal threats from terrorism and armed insurgency.

5. Through it all, our armed forces have stood resolute, defending us, keeping peace, upholding our nation's integrity, and ensuring the survival of our beloved country. Even as we speak, our servicemen and women remain on the frontlines, courageously combating insurgencies and other threats to our security.

6. Let us not forget that this enduring battle has come at a tremendous cost. Thousands of our soldiers have paid the supreme price, and many others have returned with life-altering injuries—testaments to their bravery and selflessness.

7. There is a saying: "Cowards die many times before their deaths, but soldiers die only once." A soldier is an extraordinary character who voluntarily signs up to serve and, if need be, lays down their life so others can live in peace. Only the brave can forsake the comfort of family and home to protect the lives and freedom of millions.

8. Today, we honour the extraordinary courage that defines these individuals, the unwavering commitment that transcends generations, and the patriotism that remains steadfast—whether in life or death.

9. Without the heroism of these gallant servicemen and women, this nation would not be what it is today. Neither would we enjoy the freedoms and peace we sometimes take for granted.

10. As we remember their sacrifices, let us also recommit ourselves to honouring their legacies—not only on this day but every day. Through prayers, gratitude, and purposeful action, we must uphold the dignity and memory of our fallen heroes and continue to support their families.

11. To our legionnaires and the serving members of our armed forces, you embody the highest ideals of honour, courage, and commitment. We are immensely proud of the legacy of sacrifice you have left on the pages of history and in the hearts of our people.

12. On behalf of the government and the good people of Rivers State, I thank you for showing us the true meaning of loyalty and service. Your courage and dedication inspire us all and remind us of the debt we owe you—a debt we can never fully repay.

13. But beyond our words of tribute, this day reminds us of our responsibility towards you and your families, especially the widows, children, and aged parents left behind by those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

14. As a government, we remain committed to the welfare and well-being of the Nigerian armed forces, both serving and retired, and their families. In Rivers State, we have fulfilled past promises to the Nigerian Legion, and we will continue to implement targeted policies and programs to improve their living conditions.

15. Furthermore, we will prioritize the inclusion of families of our fallen heroes in our social welfare and investment programs. May I also use this opportunity to call on well-meaning citizens and private organizations to extend their support to these families, helping them overcome the economic challenges they often face.

16. I commend our Commander-in-Chief, His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his efforts in modernizing and prioritizing the welfare of the Nigerian Armed Forces. We assure him of our continued loyalty, support, and collaboration.

17. The peace and security of our nation remain a collective responsibility. Let us all work together to support our armed forces and security agencies in overcoming the challenges we face and ensuring that every corner of our country is peaceful and secure.

18. Rivers State has enjoyed significant peace and stability under this administration, a testament to the collaboration between the government and security agencies, as well as the grace of God. We remain vigilant and steadfast in preserving this peace and will continue to provide the necessary support to security formations in the state to ensure they can effectively discharge their duties.

19. Finally, I call on every citizen to rally around our armed forces and work together to strengthen our national unity. We must ensure that every section of our country feels included and valued, fostering a stronger and more cohesive Nigeria.

20. I won't end this address without remembering the widows of the fallen heroes. To that effect I on behalf of the government and the good people of Rivers State pledge the sum of N50million solely for the welfare of the widows. This sum shall be redeemed tomorrow to enable them handle pressing issues such as school fees, house rents, and also support their businesses as well as other sundry matters. It is our modest way of appreciating the sacrifices made by their departed ones.

21. As we close, our thoughts and prayers remain with the families of our fallen heroes. May their souls rest in eternal peace, and may their sacrifices inspire us to build a nation worthy of their service.

22. Thank you all for coming to honour our heroes.

God bless the Nigerian Armed Forces.

God bless Rivers State.

God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
