NYSC honours OPM Founder with outstanding employers with exceptional welfare packages for corps members
Founder and General Overseer Omega Power Ministries (OPM) HRM King Apostle Chibuzor Gift Chinyere has been honoured with outstanding employers with exceptional welfare packages for corps members award, by the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
The investiture of the award took place at the port Harcourt City local government area on Thursday 24th July 2025 during the 2025 NYSC/Corps Employers workshop with the theme: Strengthening NYSC/Corps Employers Partnership for improved service delivery.
The DG NYSC, Brig Gen. Olakunle Nafiu, represented by the Deputy Director operations, NYSC South South Area office 11, Port Harcourt, Mr Chijioke Duru extols King Chibuzor Chinyere's efforts in taking care of corps members posted to his facilities and described the workshop as an essential tool for decision -making aimed at engaging employers for strategic communication, harmonization of views and opportunity to explain the scheme's policy direction.
Gen Nafiu used the occasion to beckon on employers to see the workshop as a call to duty where they need to partner NYSC management to articulate ideas that will enhance and strengthen the operations of the scheme.
In his words of appreciation to NYSC, King Chibuzor Chinyere thanked the management of NYSC for their great partnership for sending Corps members to OPM free facilities.
" I want to thank specially the management of NYSC for their great partnership and contributions to send Corps members in great number to all facilities of OPM, OPM free specialist hospital, OPM free school and free legal team''
He told NYSC management that all the Corps members they are sending to OPM free facilities have been outstanding and dedicated to duty.
" All the Corps members you have been sending are doing exceptionally well"
Recall that King Chibuzor Chinyere recently rewarded a corps member who served in OPM free school for children Born with autism and Downsyndrome with a parcel of land for his dedication during the period of his service. He was also given automatic employment with free accommodations.
HRM King Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere has also sent a corps member, a nurse who successfully served in OPM free hospital to work abroad. From international passport, Visa and flight ticket was paid by King Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere.
The Secretary to the Government of Rivers State and Chairman, NYSC State Governing Board, Prof. Ibibia Worika says the Sole Administrator of the State, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas will remain steadfast and totally committed in upholding the ideals of the NYSC scheme.
He used the occasion to assure the NYSC management and Corps members in Rivers State that the government will not rest on its oars until the operations of the scheme aligns with the best global practices.
Also speaking, the State Coordinator NYSC Rivers State Mr Moses Oleghe in his welcome address informed the employers that the Major essence of the workshop was the issue of welfare of corps members and how to effectively mobilize them for the socio-economic development of Nigeria, and in particular, Rivers State.
He reminded the employers that Corps members are mostly non -indegenes of their States of service. Therefore they need and deserve bountiful hospitality From their host communities to optimally discharge their duties.
The workshop and award ceremony was well attended by security chiefs and stakeholders.
