🚨 NDLEA Intercepts Fuel Tanker Laden With 2,145kg of Cannabis

Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have intercepted a 20,000-litre fuel tanker, marked MKA 960 XC, allegedly carrying a large consignment of cannabis concealed inside a false compartment.

The tanker was intercepted on September 4 along the Akoko/Lokoja Expressway in Ondo State after the driver reportedly refused to stop when ordered to do so by NDLEA operatives.

According to NDLEA spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, the driver, who was described as notorious for evading arrest, was eventually chased to a church premises in Ugbe Akoko, where he abandoned the tanker and fled into the bush.

A search of the vehicle uncovered a hidden compartment containing 165 bags of cannabis weighing 2,145kg, concealed alongside the legitimate fuel cargo reportedly destined for Jos, Plateau State.

The NDLEA said the operation is part of its continued efforts to disrupt the movement of illicit drugs across the country.

Controversial Igbo billionaire, popularly known as Akacham, has reportedly been spotted M@D in Nnewi moving around the market barefooted, with palm fronds in his hands and mouth.

According to reports, when security operatives confronted and questioned him about his unusual appearance and behaviour, he reportedly said he was cleansing the land because it was filled with sacrilege and taboo.

His actions have since generated widespread reactions, with some people questioning his state of mind.

This is coming months after the controversy surrounding the late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah and the Catholic Church.

Recall that during the dedication of the Our Lady of Assumption Cathedral in Nnewi, a Catholic knight, Sir James Okoye, popularly known as Ebube Anaedo, publicly renounced Christianity after protesting what he described as the church’s failure to properly acknowledge the contributions of the late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah to the cathedral project.

The incident sparked widespread controversy, and the Knights of St. John International later expelled him over his public renunciation of the Catholic faith.

Since then, social media users have drawn their own conclusions about the unusual developments surrounding the matter, with some even invoking the biblical warning: “Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm.”

However, whether the latest incident has any connection to those earlier events remains unconfirmed.
