Do you know the meaning of 190 and E written on the legendary Mercedes 190E?

This was one of the finest machines ever produced by Mercedes-Benz — solid, heavy, comfortable, and well-balanced, before they started producing lighter cars with plastics and less reliable engines.

The number 190 tells you the model series – it belongs to the legendary W201, popularly called the Baby Benz. Introduced in the early 1980s, it was the smallest sedan Mercedes made, but it still carried the full DNA of Mercedes luxury and durability.

The letter E stands for Einspritzung, a German word meaning fuel injection. Back then, Mercedes used “E” to indicate cars equipped with modern fuel-injected engines instead of the older carburetor system.

Back in the early 2000s, the 190E was the talk of the town. If you stepped into any beer parlour, hotel, or restaurant on a Sunday, you would surely spot one parked outside mostly owned by rich guys and business men.

I don’t know how the Germans built this machine, but it was made special. Every 190E owner has a unique story about how this car served them faithfully in its active years.

A sound 190E could take you to any part of the country without issues. If not for its fuel consumption, many would still be driving it today. Sadly, it was retired by newer models that don’t carry the same level of durability and capability.

Sadly Mercedes don't produce something like this anymore.
If you have something like this please take good care of it because they are no more and to import it will cost you heavily.

Mercedes 190 remains a timeless classic that introduced many into the Mercedes family.
