A disturbing incident has been reported involving a woman from Benin City who, after experiencing multiple miscarriages following the birth of her first child, reportedly sought spiritual intervention in search of a solution.
According to reports, she confided in a friend, who introduced her to a self-proclaimed seer. The seer allegedly told her that her five-year-old child was a python in human form and was responsible for the miscarriages she had suffered. As a supposed remedy, she was instructed to throw the child into a river, where the child was said to transform into a giant python.
Fortunately, fishermen who were present at the river reportedly noticed the situation and intervened immediately. The woman was apprehended and questioned by those at the scene. At the time of reporting, efforts were said to be ongoing to locate and rescue the child.
This heartbreaking incident serves as a reminder of the dangers of harmful superstition, misinformation, and misguided spiritual advice.
