What do you know about mumps?
Story time!!!
Sometime last month my son went to school and the next day I noticed a swollen cheek, immediately I noticed it was mumps and I wasn’t that worried cus I understand what it is. Some people don’t know that mumps is a viral infection and doesn’t need antibiotics. Someone will ask so what do I do? The truth is mumps will just run it’s cause the only thing is you give the child ibrupofen if there is fever and make sure the child is hydrated and also encourage the child to have some rest. He missed school for two weeks cus it happened on both cheeks, immediately I noticed that the first one was gone the next day we saw the second cheek swollen and that day he was already planning to be in school. I didn’t keep him home because I cannot send him to school but it’s because I don’t want to put other children at risk of contacting it knowing fully well that it’s highly contagious, not even minding that he also contacted it from school. The teacher after some days came to check up on him(thanks to her) she also explained her encounter with mumps on the son, she explained how she kept giving antibiotics but to no avail so I explained to her why it didn’t work. Most health practitioners administer drugs without understanding the type of infection. And I also hear ppl say blow corn on it, my dear that is a myth. Blowing corn doesn’t work anything, why you think the corn helped is your mindset and it went cus it ran it’s cause. What is your experience with mumps and what is that myth you have heard about the cure. Am waiting for your answers in the comment.
